(no subject)
last weekend we went to visit jess, which was so much fun! the island/jax actually reminded me a lot of home, except with a bookstore i would like to live in. also i miss jess's face, you guys. there was much excitement and laughter and mockery, which is pretty much how i like my weekends.
and now i'm in wisconsin, which i am so far not a fan of. it's been cold and wet and redneck electrician is driving me crazy with the racist remarks, country music, and dip. he leaves on saturday though, and then it's just me and the boys and our boss, who we hardly ever see. plus i have this pretty sweet computer and our library got so many new awesome ebooks and google music exists, so it's not all bad.
in other news, i am very excited about ladies_fest! partly because i am going to write the hannah backstory prequel to the bob story i never edited, partly because kl is going to write a sabetha story, partly because i am going to make ashley write a weather warden story, and partly because locke lamora fandom is the worst and i have spent all week yelling at them. (yelling in real life, calmly listing all the ways they are stupid on the internet.)
i swear to god, you guys, they are bitching that the women in scott's books are TOO AWESOME and they want some shitty ladies to balance it out. they're books about thieves/criminals/pirates/revolutionaries, and they are complaining that too many of the women can handle themselves in a fight and that they're all the same and there's no variety, so i made a list of their actual professions (we never even see most of these women fighting, except for the pirates, and THEY'RE PIRATES) and was then asked what that has to do with anything. I WANT TO PUNCH ALL OF THESE PEOPLE. also they are preemptively hating on my girlfriend sabetha, who we haven't even met yet. i mean, i'm madly in love with her and haven't met her yet, so i probably should cut them a little slack, but no.
i also pointed out to them that nobody is bitching about all the men being able to handle themselves in a fight and was ignored. UGH. can people with less wrong opinions please read these books so i don't have to read these forums anymore? kthx.
