my weekend was excellent.

friday night, momebie and i headed down to the indie theater to see the girl who played with fire, which was good. i liked the first one more, but whatever. we also had a delicious dessert and got really excited about the prospect of finally seeing that banksy movie at some point.

on saturday, kl and i woke up early, got breakfast, and hit the outlets before the crowds got too bad. i didn't even buy anything, but sometimes it's nice to be semi-productive on a weekend. we spent our entire guitar lesson that afternoon learning music theory, which is always fun. after that, we did some more shopping, then came home for more excitement. i made peanut butter pancakes (so easy! so delicious!) and then we watched batman begins and 28 days later for PRETTY-A-THON: the cillian murphy movie festival.

if i hadn't been watching batman begins with kl, i probably would have liked it a lot less. the writing wasn't great and the story dragged at times and was a little confusing, but we mocked the goddamn batman a lot so it was okay. (DON'T WORRY- i love the goddamn batman. i mock out of LOVE.) 28 days later was pretty good too, and my first zombie(ish) movie ever!

at that point we had been up foreverrrrrr and consumed an awful lot of caffeine, which led to us cackling like total assholes for 15 minutes straight about everything. i am reminded on a very regular basis that the spur-of-the-moment decision to move in with kl was the absolute right one ♥

on sunday, theemdash and marilla82 came over for a buffy marathon. at the end of every episode, i asked what was next and then exclaimed "I LOVE THAT ONE!" because i really love season 2. really really really. we finished up with both parts of "what's my line?" (oz! kendra! XANDER/CORDY!!!) and i spent a lot of time flailing.

we did have a debate at one point though, because apparently it is STRANGE that i find the master and lord voldemort adorable and sexy (respectively). whatever, guys- getaway_machine totally has my back on this one.

then today at work i read three books and talked about nanowrimo and explained to people ONCE AGAIN that i love actual books too much for an ereader. i like technology! i just don't like technology for technology's sake, which is what an ereader would be for me. when the ebook market levels out in a couple of years, i will think about again. or the next time i move and spend a lot of time freaking out about why i own so many goddamn books.

stolen from simplykatie: Look at your LJ "interests" list. If you have fewer than 50 interests, pick every fifth one. If you have between fifty and seventy-five interests, pick every seventh one. If you have over seventy-five interests, pick every tenth one. If you have fewer than ten, pick all of 'em. List them on your LJ, and tell everyone exactly what it is about these things that interests you so much.

avatar: the last airbender: i mean seriously, it's such a good tv show! see also: sokka.

buffy the vampire slayer: this show defined my early years on the interwebs ♥

dance fights: there was a point in my life where i regularly challenged people- friends, strangers, classmates, whatever- to dance fights. the best part was that for some reason people took me seriously so i found myself ACTAULLY dance fighting on a very regular basis.

ev0l: i like evil AND 1337? idek.

getting moshed on: i don't know if the digital revolution killed this or if i stopped going to the right shows, but i used to often find myself down in a pit, getting kicked in the head and shoved everywhere and i fucking loved it. now when i look at pits it's like a sea of iphones.

jayne/vera: if this isn't your firefly OTP, i don't really know why we're friends.

lewis/jo: i can't even call them my favorite het OTP in the world because i'm rereading tortall books right now and alanna/george pwns all, but they are really high up there.

mummy!ryan ross: mummy!ryan ross is (a) the cutest ryan ross, and (b) the thing that finally dragged me into bandom.

pamie: she is one of my favorite authors/bloggers/role models/human beings in the world. she made me happy to be a girl.

purple penguins: one of my BFFs is one. i haven't talked to her in a while cos i'm a jerk, but still.

sarcasm: according to my mom, that robot that can detect sarcasm has obviously not been tested very well since nobody has put it in touch with me.

talking to myself: i try not to do this in public anymore, but i fail a lot. I AM JUST A GOOD LISTENER, OKAY.

those mighty duck fucks: this has the double bonus of referencing my favorite kevin smith movie (dogma) AND one of my favorite joshua jackson vehicles.

very cherry iced tea: this was THE BEST snapple flavor, ever. i may or may not have cried when they discontinued it.

you (just kidding!): just sayin'.

movies: general, tv: btvs, memes
