-i can play "auld lang syne" on guitar and sing along AT THE SAME TIME. this is pretty amazing to me, so i've been playing/singing the song for the last 40 minutes. (i am one of those people who can't clap and sing at shows- it's one or the other, or i lose track of everything. so yes, this is totes amazing.)
-the dragon*con ya lit track put up a tentative schedule today! the guests this year are terrible- three of the werewolf boys from twilight and an author i've never even heard of- but there are actually a lot of interesting panels listed. the ones really catching my eye right now are the zombies vs. unicorns panel (TEAM UNICORN) and alternative history and magic. they're also doing a game night (an hp version of...you know what, i don't even know the real name of the game. are you a goa'uld?) and a trivia night and a SCAVENGER HUNT. i fucking love scavenger hunts. i vote we get drunk and do it. the book club books are the hunger games and shiver though, which sucks because i'd love to talk about the hunger games, but i know i probably won't read mockingjay before d*c and i'm not stupid enough to open myself up to that many spoilers. and i haven't read shiver because it's about werewolves. they're even lower on the list than vampires! but d*c is getting so close and i love how exciting everything gets once the schedules start coming out!
-the last weather warden book came out last week, so of course i immediately bought it and read it and emailed my friends about it and flailed and whatnot. i won't talk about the plot here cos one of them is still reading, but i started reading these books on my trip to visit florida 3.5 years ago. it was my first time in orlando, and
getaway_machine and i spent a large portion of that trip driving all over the city to find her a copy of the first book. it's so amazing to me that this series is over now and i'm in a place where i never would have imagined myself when i started it. i have many friends! i am a semi-capable adult! i can sort of play the guitar! etc!
