m.i.a. - fire, fire: the other day, kl told me that she had never heard any of m.i.a.'s music, which i feel is a travesty. i was OBSESSED with arular in college. my friends and i tried to book m.i.a. for a show right before gwen stefani snagged her for a tour, which made us sadface all over campus.
mike doughty - 40 grand in the hole: this is from either skittish or rockity roll (i can never remember which is which), so the music is eh but the lyrics are great. i mean, seriously, the lyrics to this song kill me. "write down the words and then i snort them up" is one of my favorites ever.
pencey prep - fat and alone: no lie, i was listening to my F playlist and just started CRACKING. UP. two thumbs up for dumb boys!
the queers - feeling groovy: speaking of dumb boys... hahaha THEY ARE MY GREATEST WEAKNESS, OKAY.
tegan and sara - floorplan: this story is only sort of about tegan and sara, but i called myself a straight lady while bemoaning the lack of good bands at lilith fair to my mom. i mean, i'm not actually a straight girl, but listening to bands with such hardcore gay lady fanbases makes me FEEL like a straight girl.
