things & things & things.

red seas under red skies: amazing! better the second time! made me cry at work! you guys, i really love this 'verse. really really really. the only thing stopping me from reading these books again immediately is that i still have a stack of new books here to read. and also i want to reread tigana and the protector of the small quartet soonish. but still! the gentleman bastards are my favorites. (right now.)

once upon a time in the north: lee! lee scoresby! when he was young and a bit of an inept lady's man! gosh i love him. this is the story of how he met iorek. it was both really interesting and a very quick read. the art is lovely. and i really want to play the game that came in the back.

doctor who: so ages ago (four years, probably. and jesus christ, if my life from four years ago doesn't start staying the goddamn hell out of my life now we are going to have a Problem) i watched some of that zipper head episode because the internet seemed to really like this show. i lasted less than ten minutes. i really like it now though! 9 was growing on me by the end, but i fell in love with 10 pretty quickly. and i stopped disliking rose! but now i'm up to martha and so far i really like her, much more than i liked rose most of the time. i kind of can't wait to finish this season and watch some torchwood though.

potterland: i can see the castle on my way home from work every day, which is really good because by the time i leave work every day i pretty much want to die. the boys keep bringing me reports on how it looks (awesome) and when it's opening (we should hear some news by next week). i am kind of stupidly excited, as i was never really kidding when i cited that for why i moved to orlando.

my job: sucks. sucks sucks sucks. there have been some staffing changes and i do not really like them, and then on top of that i have a ton of extra work and have to stay late every day and can never get anything done and keep getting yelled at. unfortunately, i have a really high opinion of myself until i try to update my resume. it's so hard to spin "college dropout whose ultimate career goal is to be able to pay her bills with less than 40 hours a week spent in a cubicle" though! ugh. the biggest problem is my debt, which eats about 2/3 of my paychecks. stupid college education, you ruin everything.

lent: is going great! last night i made this hobo plate recipe that was in the new issue of the rachael ray magazine, but i switched out the turkey sausage for veggie sausage. i thought it was pretty tasty, but too much work. (three dirty pans for what was essentially a bunch of breakfast foods thrown in a bowl! ridiculous.)

tv: dr. who, books: gentlemen bastards, books: hdm, work: eckeltricity, potterland
