sometimes i just miss writing lists.
-my little brother's site made this list of top 20 dorm-based businesses, which is pretty awesome. (his is affordabook, fyi.) i can't wait for the day when he gets his private island, you guys.
-ya for obama is a ning site (homebrew social network) for ya authors/readers who support obama. lots of interesting essays by maureen johnson, john green, scott westerfeld, judy blume, and assorted others, if you're into that sort of thing. (which i am.)
-volunteering for the obama campaign was really awesome. not just cos i support obama or cos i've never worked on a political campaign even though i've always wanted to, but because i haven't volunteered in AGES. it felt so good & i can't believe it- i think i had forgotten what a huge part of my life volunteering was. (and by the end, volunteering became so tied up in ridiculous drama that it stopped be fun.) i need to find a soup kitchen or something, stat. (actually, i just need to call the obama office tomorrow and see if there's anything i can do this week. weeeeee.)
-there might be disney this weekend, and then gearing up for a pretty busy october. i'm still trying to decide if it's possible for me to go to the ingrid show, ugh. the problem isn't really the ticket (although that's a bit of a problem)- the problem is that that week i have a matt show (and will definitely buy another one of his cds) and the john green signing (and i will be buying paper towns) and since ingrid's new ep comes out the 15th i will definitely need to buy that too. (and don't even get me started on the doughty show in november, which mike has not yet listed on his website. and also don't get me started on the obnoxiousness of what would be an awesome deal (one ticket for the whole festival) if some of the shows didn't have actual seating. i bought my doughty ticket early for a REASON.) and i think i want to do halloween horror nights. there is a pretty terrifying billboard on i-4 east between obt and the 408, and now i really want to go. if anyone is interested, let me know. i should be getting free tickets through work (off-peak nights only) and nobody ever uses them, so i can probably get a decent amount of them.
