(this week has felt ridiculously long, probably in part because i have been trapped in the office ALL WEEK. stupid slow season, not letting me escape. (AND i got yelled at! my first time in the year i've been there, which is pretty much a world record.) (the thing i got yelled at for was actually not my fault in any way- one of my bosses asked me to email something for him, and he didn't clear it through my other boss (although he did clear it with the owner) and so my main boss came in all "WHO TOLD YOU TO EMAIL THIS WHERE'S THE ORDER RAAR RAAR RAAR YOU HAVE COST US MILLIONS." except it's a free event, so WHATEVER, CRANKY!BOSS.))
some our lady peace non-album stuff for
katilara and anyone else who wants it:
blister (live acoustic),
car crash (live),
clumsy (acoustic),
lying awake (acoustic),
needle and the damage done (from a neil young cover album),
not afraid (live at the junos) (and this isn't the album version, cos this was before the cd was finished. i like this version a lot more. and i think i still have the video if anyone wants it).
(the bathroom is mostly set up and i have hung the music posters (olp (from the gravity tour, i think. the clumsy one is wrecked from being hung and taken down so much, sigh), jenny owen youngs, wrock the vote, ingrid michaelson, & matt nathanson) and i have a vague idea for everything else. now i just need to finish unpacking. ugh.)
i am having an INSANELY hard time getting
this song on my computer, which is making me really cranky. my lame encoder thing is NOT ENCODING. grrr. all the mp3s i ripped and edited last week are worthless now. on the plus side, i wasn't really happy with any of the versions of "can't help falling in love with you" that i found, and now i have
this really awesome version by ingrid michaelson. (you can get the rest of that set
here, but i saved you the trouble of hacking the site to download this one. you're welcome.)
(i have OFF this weekend, and then i have a stupid amount of shows next week, including THREE SHOWS next weekend, wtf. one is in daytona, right on the beach, yaaaaay. and one is unconfirmed right now. the stupidest part is that i am taking off two days that week for dragon*con, so i will not even get to bask in the loving glow of overtime for it. but then dragon*con!! and then g is coming down!! and i can go back to disney! YAY!)
you guys, i need more queers mp3s and i do not want to pay for them. stupid internet, BE HELPFUL. (note to self: BUY TICKETS TO SHOW ASAP, or have the saddest birthday ever.) (well, not ever, since that one time all those people died and whatnot. but the saddest SINCE then.) (actually, my 18th was kind of really shitty, since i was far from home and had no friends and went to a candlelight vigil instead of having cake. what kind of freshman says "HEY, it's my 18th birthday! let's all go mourn this national tragedy and then go to bed!"?)
(have i mentioned lately that i really hate my birthday? it is to the point where i have to actually stop myself from lying to people about when my birthday is. (how come my birthday tragedy's date is so much more memorable that my brothers' birthday tragedies? is it cos mine involved grown-up americans dying instead of poor people in a third world country and/or college students? and how come mine is a super-annoying and dumb national holiday now? HOW DO I PETITION TO MAKE IT NOT A HOLIDAY? cos it shouldn't be one. unless they want to make it a federal holiday and give me off work, in which case they can call it National George Bush is Freakin' Awesome Day for all i care.)
(wow, this entry got to be kind of ridiculous.)
(and i kind of sound like an asshole.)
(but i really do hate "patriot day" a lot. i white it out on my calendars as soon as i get them in january. and i will stab someone if i am forced to listen to a country station on my birthday again this year, because HOLY GOD WHAT. stabbity stab stab stab stab!)
(i'm going away now.)
