I finished How I Live Now today at work. The end kind of blew me away and I totally recommend this book.

I have issues with things that are more deconstructed when I haven't seen evidence that the artist in question can actually do something beautifully, and this book is very deconstructed which of course drove me crazy. But there's an actual REASON and it all falls into place and makes so much sense. And then god, the garden. I kind of wish she had spent as much time on the ending as she did on the rest of the book, but that also makes sense since the rest of the book poured out of the narrator as therapy and the ending was her (the narrator) just tacking the conclusion on. But yis, awesome book. The description is great, and I love the characters.

Now I get to start The Yanti! I am so excited I can't even.

...

I got my Ten Club Christmas album-y thing omg yay. I haven't listened yet cos the record player is all the way downstairs, but "Rockin' in the Free World" live with U2? I am pretty fucking excited for this.

In other music news? I am going to see Jenny Owen Youngs at the end of the month. !!! The tour schedule is up here. If she's hitting somewhere near you, I definitely recommend going. Her music is fab, and G tells me that she is great live. And she is touring with DUNCAN SHEIK? So jealous. (How does he have time for that? He is producing a Broadway show or something!)
