I tried to find a good quote from OB to sum up my feelings on this topic, but I failed. So let me just say: He's dating a woman with two daughters, ages 10 and 16? Fuck that shit, man. I am moving on with my life.
But I was thinking about ABVH today at work because of this. If Anita's ex- you know, the one who dumped her because she wasn't white enough, aka the bane of her goddamned existence, aka Anita holds a grudge like you wouldn't frigging believe- showed up and Anita had to save his life, do you think she would? I think she would've before, but now? If nobody who knew (as in, her vamps and 'wolves and pard and possibly Edward) would think less of her for it, I think she might let him die. At the very least, she wouldn't try extraordinarily hard to save him. At the most, she would say "Hey, remember that time you dumped my ass because I wasn't white enough for you after I gave you my VIRGINITY, you stupid-ass mama's boy? Yeah well, I kept hoping you'd suffer for it. And now you will. Neener neener neener." I think it'd be more cold, but that's basically what she'd be thinking. Except I think JC might be like "Hey, Anita? You're um. Criminally insane." And Asher would be all "I'd still hit that." And JC would respond "Oh yeah, me too. I was just pointing it out." And Richard would just be standing in the back, shaking his head sadly. Until a severe case of Dickface hits and he starts yelling at her or something.
But I think Edward might be...disappointed. That she was finally like him. That she was finally a monster. I think one of the things he loves about her is that she's not a monster- she's still got her heart and compassion and everything- but she can still put up a damn good fight. She'd be close to unstoppable if she wasn't still so human, but at the same time, her humanity is what makes her strong.
(Too bad these books kind of suck now and I haven't even read the latest one, and won't until Edward somehow makes an appearence. Heh.)
