One more quick thing
In contrast to the Very Big Convention I talked about on May 15th, and their weird reaction to receiving a check to pay for my membership, we have Readercon. I sent them a check, they cashed it in timely fashion, and emailed me to say they had it and my membership # is XXXX and to thank me for planning on attending the convention.
That's how it's done, folks. Professionally. Graciously. Nothing to let the attendee/customer feel anything other than glad to be going to the convention and confident that it is being competently run.
