Progress is progress.

300 words on the new book yesterday. That's sort of my "regular" pace. I can usually fart out that much if I just refuse to get out of the chair or start up a game. It's enough for a conversation, or to move characters around in a scene.

Since I have only a vague idea of the plot, I suspect this will be a "write lots of scenes in no particular order and piece them together in revisions" sort of flow.

I have three levels of characters: The POWERS THAT BE, who have a larger plot that ripples down to where the main story takes place. The BIG GUYS*, who are the primary drivers of what everyone has to do, and the ACTIVE GUYS, who are essentially working for the BGs. Most of the book is about the AGs.

Getting the voice right is going to be the hard part. I think I need to just write it any old way, and in revisions go back and get the voice. Grrr.

It's a challenge! Face the challenge! Push yourself as a writer! Yeah!

(Wow, those fake pom-poms just aren't doing their thing.)

In other news, I want a red panda cub. Today I discovered that the Firefoxes are active in the morning work hours. Ah, streaming video, you are a terrible temptation!

*"guys" here is used in the gender-neutral, since two of the three BGs are female, and at least two of the AGs are as well.
