Who would you pick?

Apparently the Brits will be issuing stamps of well-known fantasy characters of British origin.

Who would you nominate for a similar thing drawing from American sources?

If we want to do well-known-to-general-audiences fantasy figures from American sources, we could start with:
Coyote (Native American legend, though perhaps this would be offensive?)
Paul Bunyan (American folklore)
Conan (Robert E. Howard)
a host of Oz characters (granted, they've already been on stamps)
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
some gibbering Lovecraftian horror.

Most of those would be familiar to general audiences (though I suspect the USPS would consider Cthulhu too controversial for a stamp).

For the "only readers in the genre know who I'm talking about" category, I nominate:

Fafhrd and the Grey Mouser (Fritz Lieber)
Corwin of Amber (and family) (Roger Zelazny)
GRRM's Westeros crew (who may move to the list above, with the upcoming HBO series)

Who would you nominate? Remember, all must be fantastical characters of American origin, either home-grown myth and folklore, or created by an American writer.
