John Scalzi recently had a post discussing the fail-factor of a publisher sending him an eARC* that required a pile of hoop-jumping in order for him to get it. People attempt to impersonate popular torrent uploaders (e.g. eztv), in order to get people to do things like download their files and go to their website to get a 'required codec'. One benefit of Torrent index sites over just goggling for the torrents is provision for showing the account that makes the initial file available, and the ability to leave comments/feedback flags.
