I have health insurance. By the standards of my moronic country, I have pretty good health insurance.
Last Wednesday I had X-rays to see if I have a broken foot. Probably not, but OW IT HURTS A LOT and I am feeling pretty damn crippled at this moment.
So why am I having to do so much legwork (har dee har har) to get the bloody results?
Everyone has been polite and pleasant, which is awesome, but... you know, joints heal less well the longer you wait between the time it's injured and the time you do something about it. FIVE DAYS of walking around on a messed-up ankle after it has been X-rayed is five days of progressive damage. I've tried to take it easy, but FIVE. DAYS. Who can take five days of just sitting on their ass?
It should not require multiple phone calls by the patient.
Or if it does have to require multiple phone calls by the patient, then the system needs to be more willing to let patients direct their own care.
No, I don't have a medical degree. That's why I'm depending on somebody else to tell me what the hell is wrong with my foot. So make with the telling, already.
