Dear F'list:
Please remind me why it is a bad idea to think about buying a gigantic mansion in a bad neighborhood.
The badness of the neighborhood should be evident by the idea that I can afford the asking price of the giant mansion.
(And no, I'm not looking in earnest. I'm just looking so I keep remembering to save money.)
ETA:
maradydd, it's a bad neighborhood by Philly standards. Okay, it's not around Temple, but it's working the border of North. It's in south/central Germantown. I wouldn't mind it right now, but I wouldn't want to buy a place in the next domino to fall if the crap around Temple spreads.
ETA2: Here's
the listing for them what are interested. If I could find four or five friends to buy it with, we could split it up into apartments.
But yeah, that maintenance thing. I know I am not the right owner for this, but ooooh, the shiny.
