It is absolutely beautiful outside right now and normally that would make me feel relaxed and content...however, I can't stop thinking about the shooting that happened today in a small Amish school. It is absolutely horrible. I feel like every time I turn on the TV during my lunch break I see another scrolling headline about someone bringing a gun into school and killing people. It is so heartbreakingly sad that children can't even feel safe in the one place where they feel free and secure. Schools should be safe havens where children can escape into learning and imagination....and not be worried about what is in their classmate's backpack or who is lurking outside the doors.
