I still tryin' to catch up with everything after my weekend trip to Santa Cruz. I stayed with Cobra, Sandy and Kawi. We had a good time. Apparently the hospital next to the drive in/flea market bought the property and the status of the flea market is up in the air. We went out for dinner to an East Indian restaurant called Malabar. On Sunday there is a fixed menu and no fixed price, pay want you want... or not. It was very good and we did pay for it. On monday I had lunch with one of my former clients, Carol, and then stopped at the SF Eagle were I met up with Gene, Gypsy and Tasty Cakes on my way home.
Things around here are over the top.
A day after Z died the fleas population exploded. We have been using boric acid powder and vacuuming to get rid of them. The old stuff has lost it's punch, so I got some fresh. It's a drag to put this stuff out. When I got home Monday night, the boric acid dust caused the furnace to not burn properly, so I went to bed thinkin' it was goin' out too. but it settled down and works find now. The fleas are lessening, but still a problem.
The sewer line needs to be replaced. The washer and flushin' toilet paper tends to clog it, so it's off to the laundromat, too many times... to keep the fleas at bay.
Spring will see us dealing with the roof, Duke's bread truck, the rotten wall and the mysterious window that doesn't close properly. I just don't have the physical energy to go to work and come home to deal with construction projects.
I working on getting the "Garden Consulting" thing together. A desk piled high with things to do and not gettin' to them. The computer continues to have small, but irritating problems... argh...
On the bright side, we were given a newer tv a 1997 model - ours was from 1985! Duke was wantin' a bigger screen, as his eyes are not what they once were. So when a client got a new flat panel tv, we were given her old one. The new one is much bigger, heaver and ... well Big! We're still gettin' use to it, very different than the old one.
The Rainbows remain a mystery to me. On Wednesday we had an embarrassing....experience.
