I had a great time at Badger...
Duke, Gary and I started off for Badger Flat late Friday morn and hit some traffic in the valley. The drive up the Sierra was beautiful. The truck was piled high with not only our stuff, and
bikerbaer’s, but Gene's campin chairs. Gary was cramped in the small back seat both up and back. Duke did well managin his pain, so that he could enjoy bein at Badger.
The weather was beautiful - cool at night and warm durin the day. We camped over at the green, grassy Rainbow Meadow in Lurch's tent that Gene had so thoughtfully put up for us. It was big enough for all three of us ta sleep in.
Lots of woofy men, campfires, and starlight. I got ta spend more time getting ta know some of the Rainbows. A nicer, grungier bunch of guys couldn’t be found. The bike christenins were fun and wet.
Drama with Bill -
There’s so many men named Bill, but this one stood out. I can’t imagine a more obnoxious person. He got inta a confrontation Friday night and had a knife pulled on him at the Rainbow fire. Then Saturday night at dinner he comes up and asks if I’m Rat. It turns out that he is a long time friend of Sandy, Cobra’s partner. I gave Bill the cold shoulder most of the weekend, and that seemed ta keep him away.
The drive home went without much traffic. He stopped in Stockton ta unload Gene’s camping stuff, gettin home about 9:30 pm ta a shower and bed.
