They put bars on our windows. Any window that is large and unscreened now has two bars running accross it horizontally. For us, this means our lounge and beautiful studio windows. There are all kinds of rumors as to why, ranging from someone who "accidentally" broke a window a couple of years ago to the tale of someone who deliberately was running into the window and fell out it (and proceeded to sue the school...and won). Idiots. Its thorougly insulting.
I'm getting very frustrated than usual with the institution of RIT lately. From the horrors of registrationd to the stupidity of housing, this school has a lot of inefficient systems. The solution? get out. some friends and i are looking to get an off-campus house next year. As much as i love arthouse, and i really do, its time to move on. I need to get used to not living with 45 people constantly who can be very convenient distractions.
Classes are going pretty well, I suppose. Some of my illustration work is on display. It feels especially good since i hold my illustration teacher in very high esteem. the work he produces...the man cannot be human.
The murder mystery 2 weekends ago went...absolutely astonishingly well. Our practice time outside of that day totalled maybe...2 hours. But that very day we got there and pulled it together and apparently fooled the crowd. We had blood bags and cap guns and hooch. I killed everyone. It was a rousing good time.
This past friday the floor had a dolla holla night. we went to the dollar store, ate off the dollar menu at wendy's, and went to the dollar movie theater. lovely distraction.
Much to do between now and tomorrow, because brian's coming for the weekend, to my utmost joy. a delayed valentine's day celebration is in store.
