PUMP IT
Been home from ca. for a few days. vacation was nice. we went to:
1. laguna beach. the oc is supposed to take place there? i dunno. it was pretty overcast for a good portion of the day, but our hotel was right by the beach. at night, the beach was lit up by big spotlights, and i walked the beach at sunset every night we were there.
2. visit family. mother's side. my second cousin, alan, his wife, lisa, their baby, macallister, and his father, alfred (who gave me and my sister our car).
3. Huntington beach. big for surfers.
4. disneyland. it was SO CROWDED. SO. CROWDED. (So we were riding pirates of the caribbean, and also in our boat was this group on a school trip or something. we're about to go over the second flume, in the dark, and one of the kids stands up in the boat. immediately, the boat jerks to a stop and a voice over a loudspeaker angrily yells "EXCUSE ME. IF YOU WANT THIS VOYAGE TO CONTINUE, YOU WILL SIT DOWN WITH YOUR ARMS AND LEGS INSIDE THE BOAT AT ALL TIMES." he was down like a shot. one can only IMAGINE the types of surveillance they have all over that place.)
5. nixon library.
6. museum of contemporary art. it was a bust. like 75% of the museum was closed. lucky we didn't pay to get in.
7. winery. that was a bust too, for me at least.
8. the getty. gorgeous art museum, breathtaking grounds.
9. farmers market.
10. 3 cemetaries.
11. montano de oro. blast from the past, from childhood. its a great little beach. my sister and i went climbing all over the totally dangerous rocks.
12. visit the von dollens. 20 people for lunch on my birthday, and plenty the night before at a graduation party for a...second cousin's daughter. who, by the way, had the most gorgeous house. it was up on a hill, overlooking their vineyard. we ran out to try the rope swing on one of the trees on the opposite hill, went swinging out over the incline at dusk. just really beautiful.

in other news, no job. the education warehouse called me back while i was away, but since i didn't respond, being across the country, they filled the position. so for now i'll just babysit and work on that art project and all. i'm starting to actually feel guilty for accepting the generous amount i'm being paid to watch finding nemo over and over. ::shrug:: i've traded a real job for real cash. wise? i dunno. i guess we'll see.
been sewing a lot, and really enjoying it...again. the sewing machine is in my room now, so i can just work whenever i want.
i really love this cd. really, i do.
i also love summer. even more than i love this cd, which is saying something.
