Once again the Blur had saved her. Now Clark was sitting on her couch waiting for her to emerge from the bathroom.
Even without super hearing he could hear the water of the shower falling down on her body. The same body that moments ago he had retrieved from the river and saved from drowning.
Chasing a lead Lois had gotten herself into trouble like so many times before. But this time she caught a hit on her head that made her fall backwards into that cold black river that immediately carried her numb body away.
Now he was glad hearing her steady heartbeat close and her deep breaths next door. If only she would finish that shower...
Clark needed all of his strength not to use his x-ray vision to check on her every minute. Her sighs and panting under the hot water tickling in his ears and further down somewhere near his stomach.
She was clearly enjoying her shower and considered how cold she had been Clark couldn't resent her for taking her time. But his senses were teased while the woman he loved unconsciously tortured him.
Not only his hearing picked up every sound on the other side of the door, his nose tuned in on the concert of impressions emerging from the bathroom. He could smell the scent of her shampoo crouching into the living room through the slit under the door burning in his eyes with the moisture that it carried along.
Thinking of the danger his Lois had been in Clark tried to fight the arousal forming in his body. He clenched every muscle and concentrated on the image of her drowning but the current impressions teased his senses and tricked his vision.
No, he would be strong. He would NOT spy on her.
