Well, this is my first thing ever on here. My question to you is Wi-Fi worth getting? My brother is like, it will mess up everything, so what about a laptop? Am I able to put it on a laptop? Ok, next item is LAN connection for the Wii. I have been training an awesome team for Battle Revolution and i just noticed that I need a LAN connector.(If that is what it is called) So.....like, do I need to buy that, and hook it up where? So.....yeah....can you plz explain for me?

Do you currently have a network for the computers in your house? Multiple computers connected together? This is a LAN, or Local Area Network. Your LAN is probably a wired network, which means that physical wires join the machines together. Wi-fi is short for wireless networking, where computers are joined together by radio waves instead of by physical wires.
Of course you can use wireless networking with a laptop! In fact, I'd bet that just about any laptop bought in the last two years would come with a wireless card built in. My Vaio, which is now three years old, has a switch on the front to turn the wireless on & off. (I turn it off if I'm away from a net connection and want to save the battery.)
If you want Wi-fi simply for the online battling on Diamond & Pearl, it is possible to buy a dongle to plug your DS into a wired network - which is certainly cheaper than going out & buying a wireless network router and wireless cards for all the computers in your house. I don't know much about DS dongles though, as we've had wireless at home for longer than we've owned this house (we've lived here for 3.5 years, and had Wi-fi in the old flat for about a year).
A LAN connection for the Wii means that you're connecting your Wii to the internet via an existing home network. Our Wii is connected to the net via our Wi-fi, so no cables were needed. If you have a wired network, then you'll have to look for the requisite wired connector in a shop.

The first WiFi dongle I bought was a third-party device called WiFiMAX, but I forget which company makes it. It sucked. I couldn't trade or battle for any reasonable amount of time before randomly losing my connection (oddly enough, I could do the GTS just fine). I eventually traded it in for the official dongle, which works great. I hear the connection is better using a wireless router, though.
The thing about the official dongle, though, is that it requires both Windows XP (I bet Vista will do, though) and a high-speed connection. I didn't get mine until after I got a new computer and DSL.

Well, I have tivo (you know, that super cool recording thing.) and that is connected to the computer. and i plan on getting a laptop in like 2 years( parents will not let me!) ok, now about LAN, does it connect to like a telephone jack or the computer? i think you answered that....Oh i have DSL if that helps...So, can you go in to more detail plz? that is, it it is not too much trouble.

A network is, by definition, two or more devices connected to each other. I've never connected a game console to a LAN before, but I know enough about networking to believe you would connect your Wii to either a computer or a networking device such as a router or hub. This device would then connect to the internet via whatever means you use to connect to the internet. I don't own a Wii, either, but I suspect it will use an Ethernet cable like the one connecting your computer to your DSL.
