after getting smirks from
tyoshida (so, rika, when's your wedding?) over the welcome dinner (mm... morton's...) on thursday night, i left expo on friday morning en route to
initialdescent's wedding. though the real wedding gift will have to wait (i'm sorry, i couldn't port it to expo because it didn't arrive on time >.>) i was all ready with the cool card and stuff.... but during the denver stopover i realized the card was in the document holder at home instead of the one i brought with me for the weekend ordeals. great job, me.... orz
to top the icing on this cake, more bad things started at denver. i was stuck at the airport for 2 extra hours for some mechanical trouble (in the end they had to go grab a completely different airplane altogether), landed in a seat where there was a wailing infant in the row right behind me, and topping that off, my new 2G usb key had apparently slipped out of my bag when i picked it up to enter the plane at the gate... and i didn't realize this until i got to the hotel in minneapolis. with no way of getting it back as my return route stop is in o'hare, i will have to just go get a new one at fry's sometime. bleagh. good thing i didn't have any "sensitive" information in it.
i got out of the airport at, like, 20:30... um, i was supposed to land at, like, 18:00... so, all of this gave me basically no time at all to shop after checking in. sigh, i will have to save the awe of the mall for another year.
i got up at 08:15 today (my god i got up at 6am! a miracle in its own way!) and now gathering up to check out of the hotel to go to the wedding... though i have to go buy a bag to use for checked luggage, as the banana republic shopping bag i was using decided to give way as i was walking to my rental car (oh yeah that's another thing that went wrong yesterday...) but then most airports have shops that sell such bags, i would think... right?
today is day 2 of expo. hopefully everything went well yesterday, and will continue to do so today (and i say this knowing that there will always be "fires" all over the place...)
