Group Trips

I forget how good and bad a "Group Trip" can be until you go on one.  You tend to forget lessons learned when you have not been on a "Group Trip" in a year and with out your significant other to remind you.

First off  Create a fish bowl -  this bowl is used for everyone to put funds in on the first day.  That way money is there even if people have spent all they have on souvenirs or other items.  So if you are the driver, you are not stuck paying for gas on your own.  If a girl is driving be a gentleman (if you are a man) and pump the damn gas.  Notice that she is paying and get people to pitch in.

2nd the fish bowl can also be used for house food.  Great idea because of problems mentioned in line one.

3rd - make sure everyone has an understanding at the begining of the day where people will be, go and need to go if you are sharing car space.

4th - sandwiches are great because conventions always ALWAYS have condiments.

5th - know how the house rental is and if there is a clean up charge.  Its not your house but please act like it is.  If you have someone cooking make sure to clean up in place of their work.

6th - if you share groceries and utensils, act like it and make sure there is enough and that you do not over purchase.  Some house rentees just want the place clean more than extra items

7th - Please be conscious of other peoples money and act like you see how much someone is spending.  Do not assume its their responsibility and take some of the burden yourself.

I had a group on a recent trip that had a mix bag of people.  Some people chipped in for food, cleaning and even said thanks.
Remember humans are smart and groups of people are.......not so smart.
