in response to kathrines comment on the last entry and anyone who just wants to know how i feel...

okay. the majority of our country is christian.... the country itself isnt. this country was founded on the idea of freedom and although alot of our main ideas come from the bible, the bible isnt our consitution and we shouldnt try to make it. you have to remember that an aitheist has the right to deny any higher being just like you or i do, so teachings from the bible are completely irrelavant to him.
of course we should always maintain our civil laws and the idea that you have freedom as long as it doesnt interfere with others happiness but gay marriage doesnt. and if does, then i would have to say that is more of a personal issue then a consitutional flaw.
addressing another issue, gay marriage was never voted on, when laws prohibiting it appeared on the consitution, homosexuality was almost unheard of as an open practice. It wasnt an issue in there day... today it is. and banning gays from marrying is so unconstitutional its pathetic.
we cant force a christian belief, a muslim belief, or even a judaic belief on the whole country. you have the right to choose your own views and that should be more than enough to keep anyone happy.
