I don't know what I am going to do with studying longer term as I already have an UG degree. I wouldn't mind another BSc in Molecular Science or something, but suspect a MSc would be more useful to me, especially if I could transfer into computing/hard sciences. I know the rules are completely different if you have a previous degree or want to do postgrad stuff.
Thanks for the headsup on tax year earnings. Mine are pretty poor and below taxable threshholds I think cos I only worked 3 months between Dec 04 and Feb 05. It took Sheffield council 5 months to sort out paperwork and they refused to extend my contract to the proper 9 months to compensate for it. I was on JSA looking for work when I got ill again and had to switch to income support. Ironically I am substantially better off on benefits than I would have been if my library job had been fulltime, nevermind the 18 hrs a week it really was - completely nuts.
I should receive a reply to my email in early Jan, or I'll phone and ask them for more detailed info.

I need to go and prod the benefits people too, see if I can get myself a ECDL and poxy IT qualifications done to improve my shorter term employment chances.
