Way to stick it to loyalty and simplicity, love...

My monitor's out so I'm on the second computer in a secluded office/meeting room in the library. It feels more like I'm working and have an actual job when I get to spend a few minutes in the cubicle-esque setting.

This is the most bizarre and obnoxious "save the date" creation I've ever seen. It's not enough for them mail out magnets is it? I realize they deserve a hearty congratulations for being together six years and tying the knot in an original and funny way. It also shows how they've grown together as a couple. But still, there's  the cynic a tiny part of my brain that thinks it's a little overblown.

And to make matters worse, we can no longer rely on animals to set good examples. Swans mate for life, huh? Oh really? See Experts stunned by swan 'divorce'

"First suspicions of the rare event were raised when male swan Sarindi turned up in the annual migration from Arctic Russia without his partner of two years Saruni and with a new female - newly-named Sarind - in tow.
The pair's arrival led conservationists to fear the worst for Saruni.

But shortly afterwards Saruni arrived at the wetlands site - also with a new mate, Surune."
"In this case, however, both swans and their new partners are now over-wintering in close proximity on the lake at Slimbridge."

"As for why they may have split, she said: "Failure to breed could be a possible reason, as they had been together for a couple of years but had never brought back a cygnet, but it is difficult to say for sure."

It's the best Valentine's day ever when your ex shows up with a new swan in tow!
