Fuck. There goes another promising career. He actually was one of my few favorite actors in the new generation. I've seen ... okay, well, not nearly all his movies, but I liked a Knights Tale, and Patriot (Well, I'd seen that one more for Mel Gibson, but still, he kicked some ass.) and the Brothers Grimm all on the bigscreen, and was looking forward to his role as the Joker in The Dark Knight.
What's beginning to annoy me now though is the fact that he's going to be remembered in the news as being Jake Gyllenhaal's catcher in Brokeback Mountain. Watch how many flicks mention Brokeback vs. 10 Things I Hate About You. Okay, the closest I've ever got to Casanova was watching that one on cable, but hey....
The thing that shocks me though is how this came totally out of the blue. Whatever his problems were, he hid them from the tabloid media well.
