... do you think you could have made it sound a little less like it was Dr. Watts' fault that the cops beat him up, held him in the coop for three hours, impounded his rental car, his wallet and cash, all the belongings in said car, and even his coat, and dropped him off at the border in the middle of the night in his shirtsleeves with orders to report back to stand trial for assaulting an officer?
I know you grew up more or less in Detroit, but in civilized places (which I've visted now and again) getting out of the car and asking why the cops want to search the car, even if shouting is involved, does not justify such cowardly dick-waving behavior as the "Popo" demonstrated in this case.
If these were county, or even state, cops doing this, firings and lawsuits would already be in the works. Unfortunately, this is the Border Patrol, a division of Homeland Security, an agency which is utterly incapable of admitting any wrongdoing- so instead we'll have to hope that Dr. Watts doesn't go broke trying to defend himself in court.
(Also, any conventions which, for whatever reason, might have wanted to invite Dr. Watts as a guest can pretty much write that off. I'd say he's had more than enough of the warm welcome America gives foreigners, even foreigners from a land most Americans think is part of our country anyway.)
