I am a geek.

Well, not your usual geek. I have an addiction to the not obvious.....

Fantasy Football.

I kid you not. I am a FF nut. I even buy the magazines every year, join leagues and act like a coach all season. I currently am on 2 leagues now- might join a third- and picked my players for the season.

How did this happen? I guess it was just for the hell of it about 4 years ago now, maybe 5. My oldest brother was into it then, so I decided to see what the whole deal was. It's actually kinda fun in a geeky sort of way.

My only problem has been my gender. Race had/has nothing to do with it. (Though I have 'drafted' 2 Black QBs this year :)) I am very serious about this. I have since amended my profile so it sounds unisex/gender non specific. I didn't want to, but it's a hassle if I don't. Second year I was playing, one player was always on me to trade his worst players for my best players, like I didn't know how well they played. I was like, "Huh?" I prolly did more research than he did the whole season. But it didn't stop. I must have turned him down for 'trades' six or more times in the season. It was like they thought I was some dip playing it because of my husband/boyfriend or something. Geez- a girl can't like sports? :) Unbelieveable the way some men think in the 21st bloody century.

I seem to be (once again) in all male leagues this year. But that's okay, because I have good temas, I picked good players (I always run them by my unofficial sports expert, Dad) and I like kicking macho men's butts. After all- winning and winning well is the best revenge. :)

As a total 360.....Armand Assante was teh SEX back in the day. HUMINA. *drools* Yeah I know- I have weird crushes. So sue me.

sexism, sports, actors, football
