[Anyone in Discedo may notice a familiar figure roaming about the streets, though there's a different air about him. He'll be strolling around the city before he makes his way back to his old apartment at Latimir 101.]

[ Just outside the apartment building when he notices someone approaching. He looks a little like he's about to greet China, then he stops.

Yeah, that's definitely different. So, ever-eloquent, he just stands there until he thinks China might be able to see him. Then, very briefly, he waves. And says not a word. So helpful. ]

[As China approaches the building, he sees a figure waving to him and after some squinting, he sees who it is. He picks up his pace, allowing the flag he's holding to float behind him.]

[ Definitely different. Hong Kong waits for China, still refraining from speaking. Once China's closer, he looks pointedly upward, at the other's hair. ]

Hm? What's the matter, Hong Kong? Why are you-- Oh... [Then he realizes just where the other is staring at. He twirls his short locks around one of his fingers.]

To help you. [ How stupid is he, repeating that instead of saying something helpful like 'welcome back.' ] I mean, it's good to see you. It's been awhile, right?

[China only nods at that first part, but he sends a curious look at the next.]

[ Hong Kong looks... well, at least vaguely contemplative. ] About a week here. But it was a lot longer at home, wasn't it?

A week? Really?

[He looks off to the side, a confused expression replacing his curious one. He nods at what Hong Kong says next, though.]

Thirty years, aru. It's 1967 where I am from now.

Thirty...? [ Well, that explains a few things. ] It's weird, thinking all that time passed by so fast.

I know, and so much has happened since 1937, aru.

Did I miss anything while I was gone? Anything important happen?

Yeah, it's a busy time for you, isn't it?

[ He looks aside. ] Nothing worth mentioning, I think. I thought you were gone. [ 'I was worried.' ]

Very, especially I was dragged into Vietnam's conflict, aru. My countrymen and I are sending her own so many things, including rice. [He places one of his palms against his forehead.] I cannot say that my home is in any stable shape, though.

I apologize for leaving on such short notice, but I was unaware of my departure all together. I just went to sleep in my apartment one night and I awoke in the same abandoned building I had fallen asleep in before the scientists took me, aru.

[ He looks a little bit grim for a moment. ] I remember. Some of her people are coming to live with me now, coming back from all over the world.

[ Turning toward China a little more. ] You shouldn't apologize for that. It wasn't in your control.

I hope that the war is long over by your time? [Because he's getting fed up not only by family, but by Russia too (and America).]

[China shifts weight from his right foot to the left.] It still doesn't make me feel any better.

Say, Hong Kong, what was I doing the last time I was here? It's been so long and so many things have happened that I cannot recall, aru.

Should I say? [ He turns his head a little, looking at China from the side. ]

Yeah, I thought so. [ He had to say it though, because nobody beats themselves up like his family. ]

[ He pauses, quiet for a moment. ] Making fireworks.

It better be. I cannot imagine this going on for the next forty years, aru. [He'll go mad.]

[A thoughtful look comes across China's features once again.]

Yes, that's right the gunpowder. I should get back on that now that I'm back, aru. [Except he doesn't intend to use that gunpowder just fore fireworks.]
