[Today, everyone will hear the sound of China's bamboo flute again. However, it is a sad melody being played this time. When the song ends, there is a long silence before he speaks.]

I know that the scientists just bring people back, but... This is for all our friends and family who had to go through all that--

I had no idea you were so skilled with the flute my good China. Why hadn't you told me sooner?

Hm? Oh, I actually played it a few weeks back, although it was a much happier tune than what I just played, aru. You must not have arrived yet at the time.

I will be sure to play more often, though, at least, that is what I hope, aru. I enjoy playing this instrument.

I must confess, it was very good. It has been some time since I have heard such skill with the flute. It's also quite kind of you to mourn for those that have died.

You are too kind, aru.

...Well, I would like to see off their spirits with some music, even though the scientists will just bring them back to life. I still cannot wrap my mind around how they are able do that, though.

It is not quite as foreign a concept to me, for I have actually been brought back from the dead on many occasions. Think of it much like a snake charmer trying to call one's spirit from the beyond to get their attention. After that, it's simply a matter of healing what had killed the body in the fist place. Although without any divine healers, such a task seems next to impossible, but perhaps they fonud some form of alternative.

I cannot say the same, aru. Usually, my body just heals quickly, even if it is a serious wound.

Yes, but I'd imagine in your case, you have the lifeblood of a nation flowing through you. Nations are incredibly difficult things to destroy, and oftentimes can even come back should the fates be kind.

[China can't help but chuckle at that.]

Yes, we tend to be very stubborn beings, aru.

Although, if the wound is serious enough to a point where it would kill a normal human being, we only lose consciousness for awhile.

I wonder though if the relationship works both ways... If you are harmed by an outside source, would your nation in return suffer?

[He licks his lips and looks up.]

It depends, aru. It's usually the opposite, when our homeland suffers a major and devastating blow then it is possible that our own body will be harmed as well.

So it's never happened the other way around then?

I did not say that, aru. It is only rare.

I see then. Because I would worry if one of you nations did die because your powers were disabled from your chip. Your entire nation suffering your loss would be rather catastrophic.

If we died and there was no one to replace us, then it would be a slow end to our culture, aru.

However, I do not believe dying here would affect anything back home anyway.

Well that's an interesting theory. Do you think that is because the us that is here are merely copies of the original on our home plane of existence? I have seen this kind of thing happen from time to time with planeswalkers, although it's a rare phenomenon...

I'm not losing you am I?
