*flail* Masaki is even more adorkable in the Japanese version of the episode. For example, a key quote of his? "But even extinct Pokemon should have a heart." Should have a heart. That's like the kind of thing you'd find a Cloud Cuckoolander saying in a fluffy shoujo anime. What makes this even better is I know all too well that this is being said by the same voice that did Vash the Stampede. (Everything is infinitely funnier if you can only think of Vash the Stampede when you hear Masaya Onosaka's voice. This is a fact.)
Also! The Japanese episode, if this is a reliable translation, does not have:
1. The entire bit where Masaki thinks the Pokemon is the only one of its kind. He only says that it's alone in the original, not that it's the only member of its species. (This is in response to Kasumi's question of, "Doesn't it have any friends or lovers?" Oh, Kasumi. I forgot how much I love you.)
2. The entire kerfluffle about Masaki not being able to identify the Pokemon. Just before it leaves, he pleads it to show him what it looks like, meaning he can't even see it. Considering a Dragonite call that is not, this just means Masaki would logically have no idea WTF is going on.
Unfortunately, Masaki is just as terrible at the concept of transitions as Bill is, so I still don't know why he goes into talking about how old the planet is right after Satoshi asks him about the costume and why he randomly talked about how Pokemon live in all sorts of places right after Satoshi asks what Pokemon visited them the night before. Oh, pet character. You make no sense sometimes.
But yes. That was an awesomely spent half an hour. Thank you, power of torrent.

Did FFNet just reduce the time period the ad blocker covers to just a day? Seriously? As in, every single day you want to go on FFNet, you have to go and activate ad-blocker? (I'd rely on only Firefox plugins to do the job, but as far as I can tell, they don't stop the site from doing things like displaying the page for five seconds and then having a full-page ad fade in on top of it. You know. The one with the button that says "skip this ad" or "you can continue to the page as soon as this ad is done loading"?)
Now, I really don't care about putting up a banner ad or having pop ups a la Geocities or Angelfire come up because you need to help finance a major site. I know that domains and space isn't exactly cheap and that the bigger your site is and the higher the traffic, the more money you need to run it. But seriously? The full-page things piss me off, and it was annoying as eff as it was to keep renewing ad-blocker every three days. But to do it every day?
It's really difficult as it is to find a venue for fanfiction for this community. A lot of forums actually suck in terms of getting feedback, either because the audience is too small or the writing community's cliquish or full of kids who'll drop one-liners. (This is part of the reason why I want PC to shape up.) Meanwhile, a lot of writing sites are either inactive (at least, when it comes to Pokemon), have a poor community for one reason or another (looking at you, deviantART), or are FFNet. And journal sites like LJ comms? People post fic in this fandom, but it's not that easy to get a response.
I guess long story short, I'm looking for a new place to put my fics because I'd like to. There's my own site, of course, but is Pokemon Tower any good? Beyond that, what else is there?
And I've heard about Archive Of Our Own. I really don't know how to feel about it because it sounds like a more pretentious FFNet a place where I might not get much feedback. (Looking at how many stories actually have comments as we speak.)
Alternatively, I can just not worry about this right now and write whatever in my own tiny corner of the 'net.

ABOUT YOU / YOUR JOURNAL
▷ What is your LiveJournal username? How did you come up with it? banzaisebastian. I wanted a new journal but couldn't think of any names. Because I had yet to invert my sleep cycle, it was the middle of the night, I smooshed together two words, and then, I went, "Oh, hey!" Years later, I realized the initials were BS, which made it even better.
▷ Have you renamed before? If so, what were your old names? If you haven't renamed, what names would you want to rename to? I just got a completely new journal; my old one was jaxmalcolm. (ORIGINAL, RITE?)
▷ What is in your "name" slot, if not your username? JX Valentine. My online name. ORIGINAL, RITE?
▷ How much does your userinfo say about you? Assuming you don't bother with the links, hilariously nothing at all.
▷ How long have you been on LiveJournal? I created my first account in 2004, so that means I've been around longer than your mom has for six years.
▷ What is the longest amount of time you've gone without posting? When I first started using my old journal, I forgot I had an LJ for a month and a half. Go me.
▷ On average, how many entries do you post per day? (Divide how many total entries you have by how many days you've been on LJ.) One per day and screw off.
▷ What are your posts normally about? "This is not my homework," "baww, my homework/job," or "~*~FANDOM~*~"
▷ Is your LiveJournal friends only? Why or why not? Half and half. It used to be friends-only because I used to have ass holes troll my journal frequently, but after awhile, I realized I just don't really have that much to hide and can boot douchebags from my journal anyway. Personal entries are mostly f-locked now, but for the most part, I don't care. (Also, I'm too lazy to go back and unlock the other half of my posts.
▷ Does your LiveJournal have an actual title or are you merely USER @ LiveJournal? *points to Desdemona?* Title.
▷ How long do you see yourself staying on LiveJournal? Given that I'm an attention whore who likes to talk about herself, awhile.
▷ How accurately do you think your journal represents you? Pretty accurately. This is my journal. I can say exactly what's on my mind, for the most part, and just filter out whoever wants to be filtered out.
▷ Is your LiveJournal layout customized or default? Default because I'm lazy.
STATISTICS
▷ Date of survey (because things will change as soon as you finish it): April 3, 2010.

▷ Number of Virtual Gifts: 7.
▷ Number of Userpics: 6. lol, basic account.
▷ Number of Interests: 91.

ABOUT YOUR FRIENDSLIST
▷ How many people are on your friendslist, not counting private journals, media journals, etc? If we don't count RP journals here, either, this means that 70 of 73 friends are on my flist.
▷ Why do you choose to add a person to your friendslist? We share interests, and the other person and I have chatted outside this journal (via friend memes, comms, other forums, what have you) and seemed to get along pretty well.
▷ Is your friendslist an actual list of people you consider friends, or more of a reading list? A little bit of both. A lot of the time, I don't comment, though I do read your entries, but I wouldn't mind talking to you whenever I can, too.
▷ How often do you read your friendslist? Every day, sometimes several times a day.
▷ Do you use filters when viewing your friendslist? Nope.
▷ How much do you talk to people on your friendslist off of LiveJournal? Every day, although I don't talk to everyone. I always sit down to chat with the people I also know in real life, for example, and
lineaalba and
sexysuitsteven always get an IM every night.
▷ Do you do friendscuts? Why or why not? Occasionally. If I do them, it's to prune off people who seem to have disappeared off the face of the earth. I'm not sure why I like doing that, but.
▷ Do you regularly participate in friending memes? If not, how do you normally find people to friend? I wish I could, but I tend to be completely oblivious to their existence. Otherwise, I friend people I've met on forums or in real life. Sometimes in communities I frequent, too.
▷ How often do you add new friends to your friendslist? Maybe once a month.
▷ Do your friends have to have things in common with you? It really makes things a lot less awkward, so yes.
▷ Who are your favorite LJ friends? *waves to all you kids out there*
▷ What are your favorite LJ communities?
pokeglass and
lablanca_ic. *shot repeatedly* Also,
pokemon is surprisingly a cool place to hang out (I say "surprisingly" because I left awhile back for a couple years when it definitely wasn't), and I frequently stalk
lower_tadfield, just because the Good Omens fandom is amazing.
▷ Of all of the people on LJ you know of, who is the most like you?
lineaalba. We like to torment her husband with this fact.
▷ Who is the sexiest person on your friendslist?
lineaalba. I know this from experience. But seriously, all of you out there. Stay classy, flist.
▷ Have you met anyone on your friendslist in real life? Uh... half my friends list?
ABOUT YOUR ICONS / USERPICS
▷ How many userpics do you get maximum? How many of those slots do you actually use? Six and... six.
▷ Do you mostly use icons made by yourself or by others? Made by others. I have ones I've made myself, but you can tell that I suck at iconing.
▷ Do you have your own icon community? How often do you post in it? No and never.
▷ What fandoms are most frequently seen in your userpics? Historically, it's actually Vocaloids because the icons that they get are really, really pretty. I've also been known to use a lot of Sayonara, Zetsubou Sensei icons and The World Ends With You stuff. It's only recently that I've started using more Pokemon ones because I tried and wussed out of having a Bill iconset.
▷ How do you find icons to use? Icon communities I find via my interests.
▷ How often do you upload new icons to use in your userpics? Not too often. Maybe once a couple of months.
▷ Which of your userpics do you use the most? Currently, it's my default one and the one of Miguel with a derpderpderp face going on.
▷ Which of your userpics do you like the most? Miguel with a derpderpderp face going on. It's just... yes. That icon alone is exactly why I watched The Road to El Dorado.
▷ The old minimum number of userpics was three. Could you see yourself "surviving" on three userpics now? Considering I only seem to use two? Yeah, probably.
▷ What do your userpics say about you? I have no idea, and I get the feeling I might not want to know. (Maybe that I really like Bill?)
ABOUT YOUR FANDOMS
▷ How many fandom communities are you a part of? If we count fanfic challenge communities and RP ad communities here, that means 35 of the comms I'm a member of are fandom ones.
▷ Do you join fanfic or icon communities or only the general communities? Both. Most of my comms are fanfic-related.
▷ How many fandom communities do you moderate? Five.
▷ How often do you check fandom communities for new posts? See the question about checking my flist.
▷ Do you contribute to fandom? If so, by way of what? On LJ, most of what I do is RPing. I write fic, too (obviously), but I usually post that elsewhere.
▷ Which fandoms are you most active in? Pokemon, definitely. After that is Good Omens.
▷ What do your choice of fandoms say about you? That I'm a serious dork.
▷ Do you make friends based on fandom? Absolutely. The people who aren't RL friends are my fandom friends.
▷ Have you ever read (or been featured on) fandom_wank? No, but I nearly was thanks to a certain someone. The post got put on their anon meme (that one thread where anonymous kids can come in, post threads, and ask other people to look at it and write about it on FW), so I admittedly yanked it before it could get much further. No, I won't reveal where the post was, and no, the wank mouse wasn't reporting it because of me. (They were reporting it because the other person I was arguing with was hilariously a BNF in the fandom because she wanked enough to be reported to FW multiple times.)
▷ What is one thing you wish you could change about fandom? Dear fandom: STFU and stop being stupid to each other. Love, me.
