Nice to have a weekend that feels like a weekend for both of us. barlow_girl has been working like mad until the end of this week on a work project that needed to launch, and once it did, we've had space to breathe a bit. Wound up back at Espresso Vivace for the first time in ages, waiting for the bank to open so I can get my workday rolling. Since barlow_girl is away at our church's women's retreat this weekend, I've taken the bus in for work and worship this morning. Oh, dusty, neglected LiveJournal-I'd love to treat you better in 2012 than I did in 2011. I'm sad that I've recorded so little in a year with so much, and, as with most neglected things, it's going to work better simply to begin again than to try to catch up. Lost a couple of friends here in my absence; completely understandable but a bit sad.

Sure enough, getting back into regular rhythms with work and life has settled lots of my unsettledness and tied together much of what felt frayed. Turned 40 on Wednesday, a remarkably uneventful event. Received some thoughtful cards, calls, and Facebook messages, and we're hosting a celebratory open house next Friday.
