Fight rudeness with rudeness

The folks who want to talk with me outside the grocery store really get on my nerves, and I've tried strategy after strategy to dodge them, with mixed results (not that I can't just say, "no, thank you," but even that gets old). Today, the elegant solution finally occurred to me: hold my phone to my ear as I pass. Problem solved.
