Though bus service is limited this week, Seattle is mostly thawed from Snowpocalypse 2008. The city just isn't prepared for what would be normal winter weather in many other regions, so significant storms and accumulation send us for a loop. We spent much of the past ten days or so homebound, and my pre-Christmas expeditions to the office were both harried and in vain, as we had to cancel services and events that Sunday. It was good to return to worship with our church yesterday, and by this morning it was tough to tell there'd ever been snow at all.
One great side effect of the time: found that the route I've used for years to reach my bus stop to the office is nearly twice as long as it needs to be. Funny how I get in a groove rut and stop seeing obvious elegant solutions.
