Slack week

Feb 15, 2007 20:42

Well I've had a pretty slack week this week (added later: nevertheless this turned out to be a long entry).

One of my kids hasn't been scheduled yet because her timetable keeps changing, so I didn't see her. As well as that a boy that I see on Monday and Wednesday was absent both days and his sister who I see on Wednesdays was absent then too.

I got a new kid in Donnybrook this week too so now I'm going to see her after my Collie kids on Tuesdays, except she wasn't there this week. So basically I saw 1 kid on Monday, 2 on Tuesday, 1 on Wednesday and today I saw 3. The 2 Collie kids and 1 in Darkan. And tomorrow I have 1. And in the meantime I've worked in the office or at home planning my lessons and stuff, but I never have any homework and I feel like I should have heaps of work. I feel like I'm not doing enough because the other 2 are rushing around doing heaps all the time and they've got similar amounts of kids. But I do everything and that's that. I'm not sure if maybe I just work more efficiently or I'm not doing my job properly? I hope its the former!

Chris and I have been watching so much "Friends" lately cause it was the first thing that we unpacked from my DVD collection. I have all of season 8 on 6 DVDs which Kirsty got for me :) (THANKS!) so we found 3 of them and watched them but all the time I was thinking "I'm SURE there were 6 DVDs!" anyway I accidentally found the other 3 later on YAY and we watched them too, except the first batch were from the end of the series and the second batch were from the start, oops! Now we want to buy the whole 10 seasons!!! LOL!!

Valentine's Day was nice. My last kid finished at 1:30 so I came home to dump my things before going to the shops. Chris had gone to work cause he started mid-morning and I came home to find a beautiful red long stem rose in a vase with a long pole-like box of Raffaello chocolates, which I have decided I love way more than Ferrerro Rocher. They are so yummy. Leaning against the wall was a really nice note written by Chris on cardboard box (which he had done a few days before too) because we don't have any paper yet. Was such a nice surprise.

So I went to the shops because I'd had this plan in my head for a few days to make this strawberry dessert that I knew Chris wanted to try from one of our new recipe books. I bought the ingredients and I bought some cooking chocolate. I got home and made chocolate covered strawberries and bananas and stuck them in the fridge. Then I made the dessert, which is really easy. You just wash the strawberries, roll them around in caster sugar and then leave them for 2 hours. After 2 hours the juices have mixed with the sugar to make a nice sauce. Then you roll them in balsamic vinegar and stick it in the fridge for 30 mins. Then you take it out and put the strawberries into 2 water glasses and pour the vinegar sauce over the top of them. You top the lot with a dollop of marscapone cheese.

After that I began to make dinner, which was Thai Green Chicken Curry, except I had vegies of course. Well it was delicious if I do say so myself :) We were so full that we waited for the chocolate-covered fruit. We then had the special dessert and it was yummy. Chris was very happy about it :) Well why not? The way to a man's heart is through his stomach! I also got him some of those Bouchee d'or Elephant Chocolates (I can feel your approval Kirsty, lol :P).

So we had a very nice VD indeed :) Now we're just cleaning a bit of the junk around the house cause Chris's friend Neil, who is down in Bunbury for a conference is visiting us in a little while :)

valentine's day, work, friends
