My week

Hey yes I am alive. I've been at prac all week. It's my 3rd week and I've got 1 more to go, then HOLIDAYS!!!!!!!

Tuesday when I left prac, I was going to go to Chris's but I decided to go home to do some urgent work, but he managed to convince me to come to the movies with him. We saw Click, which was pretty good. It was a lot better than we thought it would be and it was quite sad actually.

Wednesday after prac I came home and later Chris came over and went with Dad and I to our weekly pub quiz night at the Moon and Sixpence. I've decided its mandatory for Chris to come every week now (even though he's not a big fan of quizzes) because we have gone every week for a couple of months now and never won anything except the 2 times Chris came. Last night we won TWO rounds. They were both tie-breakers and I went up to answer the tie-breaker questions. The first was "when you excercise, what is the acid that your body releases?" (or something to that effect) and I shot my hand up first and said "lactic acid". The second time was a song and you had to guess the artist. My hand up first again and it was "I knew I loved you before I met you" by Savage Garden. The other 2 guys from the other 2 teams were probably about 40-50 and didn't know, EVEN THOUGH the same song had been played in our "Guest the Artist" round 2 minutes earlier! lol

So both times we won silly prizes (the prizes aren't that great). Both prize piles had hats, scarves and stubby holders (shaped like a torso with arms that said "The Green Machine" ie: Danny Green) and one had a soccer ball and the other had a cool bag for cans. I took one of the hats and one of the scarves. I like the scarf but the hat is nothing special. Twas a good night! We're going to another quiz night (with better prizes) with Chris's parents on Saturday night, so that should be good!

And TODAY I had a first... today I played... wheelchair basketball! The deaf kids at prac go every few weeks to the Wheelchair Sports association and play wheelchair basketball on thursdays. They're all able-bodied (except one) but its just a fun excursion for them. We had lots of fun. We raced up and down the court, getting used to the chairs at first. Then we made a chain of wheelchairs by holding onto the back bar of each others' chairs and being towed by the non-able-bodied student who has a motorised wheelchair. Then we got into a game. It was quite scary sometimes cause the year 10 boys are very confident and knock each other about a bit. After going back and forth up and down the court and not getting my hands on the ball, I decided to stay at my team's goal end and be someone they could pass the ball to and I could shoot it. Well that worked. I got the ball heaps after that, but every time I tried to shoot (about 10 times), I missed or NEARLY got it in. It's really hard because they don't lower the rings, they're at the normal height and you can't push off very well in a wheelchair. But it was great fun!!!!!!! :) Now I want a wheelchair hehe.
