To Linux or not to Linux ... that is one of the questions
.
If one gets a new pc (desktop or laptop) and it "comes with" several programmes (included, free or trial) then which should be kept, and which ones uninstalled etc.?
At least 2 programmes seem to be "open-source" software, assoxiated with Linux: Hyperspace and Failsafe. Both apparently are designed for laptops/netbooks, and were under Phoenix but have been taken over by a new company. Has anyone tried these? Are they worth having or not?
What are the best:
- security programmes,
- music and video software,
- art/graphics/photo programmes?
Please give me your opinions, based on your experience. I am only familiar with one or two of each, so would really appreciate input. Thanks to everyone who offers advice.
