Here's a post I started a week or so ago but was too frustrated to finish at the time...
Last few days were a little weird. We'll call this dude "Dude". So he's my ex. I was financially supporting him until around the first week of September and it had been going on since March. I decided not to do that anymore about three weeks after I broke up with him. Suddenly he was able to move into his brother's house 3 miles away which was curiously never offered as an option before. So he's moved out and gone but still has my housekey and owes me about $1500.
The other night he called me and was making stupid threats (toward himself, not me) and generally making an ass of himself. The next morning he went into my house without permission using a key I had already asked him to return. Then he called Peter's freakin apartment! around 6am after having looked the number up in the phone book. *sigh* NOT well recieved. I asked for my housekey back.
The following morning, as Peter was getting ready to go turn some stuff in to APD, Dude's sister-in-law called me. She said that we had exactly one hour to meet her at the Decatur Starbucks to retrieve my property or she would consider it abandoned and she would know how to handle that cause "my mom's a lawyer". So, we dropped what we were doing and headed down there. We arrived before she did, and called her cell and were informed that she was on the way. We grabbed a couple iced mochas and waited outside next to Decatur's finest who were on crosswalk duty, just to be safe. She shows up with her fatass fanboy husband (Dude's brother) standing behind her acting as menacing as possible, and tells us that we need to go get a table and sit down. I didn't quite understand why it was so hard to just hand me my crap. So, we took a table near the barista and in a very mafia-information-exchange style, passed my bag to me across the table. She then stated that she wouldn't return my housekey until I signed something stating that Dude had returned everything he had that belonged to me and that everything was "settled". I said I wouldn't do that until I had a signed document stating a repayment agreement for the financial situation between myself and Dude. (Which I had already arranged and do actually have now) She refused to return my key until I approached a Decatur officer who upon hearing the beginning of the explanation looked at her and said "just give her the key". She did...it was the wrong fracking key. Now any time I attempt to contact them she says she's going to file harassment charges.
In the meantime I got a voicemail from Dude stating that he's sorry and the situation is out of his control and he "hopes I will forgive him someday"
Jeez. What a bunch of stupid crap!!! How can you consider yourself an adult if you don't handle your OWN personal situations and let your family run all over things like Goliath when its not what you want done? *Sigh* At least its over now.
