floweringangel ⇒ Aerith is one of Zuko's closest friends, one of those few and rare individuals who have figured out who to get past his emotional barriers and bond with him. He does not have any romantic interest in her what-so-ever, despite what some may believe.

spaceflyboy ⇒ The first person Zuko met and befriended after arriving in Econtra. Duo showed him how to work the PDAs and how to make his entries unhackable if needed. Zuko hangs out with him from time to time, the two either sparring, exchanging war stories, and sometimes, even drinking--though he's swore never drink that much again after the hangover he suffered through the next day.
• Mai (OU) |
savedthejerk ⇒ Mai is Zuko's current girlfriend. She is a childhood friend of his sisters and Fire Nation nobility. Her arrival in Econtra was startling to Zuko, having not expected her to be brought here and was in the process of courting another girl from a different world. Things were complicated between them for the first few months: renewing their relationship for a few days, then getting into arguments and calling it off; Zuko's interest in other girls; as well as Zuko's determination not to waver from his loyalty to Aang, even in a place where home and his great-grandfathers' war didn't exist. These are all things that he eventually got over and/or came to terms with and got back together with Mai for good.
• Princess Azula (OU) |
lady_azula ⇒ His younger sister by two years, only thanks to the Keepers having brought her in a year prior to his arrival, there is now only one year separating the firebending siblings. The two didn't get along at first, immediately at one another's throats like they were back home. They calmed down and Zuko started to warm up to her after learning that she was originally from a point in his world months before he was and that having spent a year in Econtra had shaped her into a much more calm and reasonable person. Zuko and Azula now get along and are starting to form the sort of sibling relationship they never had back in their world. They have also agreed to train one another--Zuko will teach Azula how to redirect lightning in exchange for her teaching him how to generate it.
• Princess Mercury / Princess Sailor Mercury [PGSM] (AU) |
boundtowater ⇒ The alternate universe counterpart to the Mercury he was close to. Zuko fully realizes that they are two completely different people, despite sharing the same face and unusual hair color, but cannot help but respect this one in a way similarly to the way he respected the other.
• Quatre Raberba Winner (AU) |
quatre_winner_1 ⇒ The elder version of the Arabian Gundam Pilot is among the few people in existence to ever get Zuko to open up about his various issues. Venting was something Zuko needed and he was able to do so to someone who wouldn't judge him or share things with others that were said in confidence. Zuko considers Quatre to be one of his closest friends and has even shared his ability to make fine tea with the pilot, something that only a few people are aware of.
• Sokka (OU) |
mrwangfire ⇒ Zuko has known Sokka for a long time, though not always as a friend. They were originally enemies, when the younger boy was traveling with the Avatar and he hunting them. Sokka quickly became one of his close friends after he changed sides and joined the Avatar's group, something that was good for Zuko, being that he'd never had a friend that was his own age and gender before. He has a lot of respect and admiration for Sokka; more than he's willing to admit.
• Toph Bei Fong (OU) |
rockingurworld ⇒ Toph is, to put it simply, the younger sister he never had. She was the first person willing to give him a chance when he tried to join the Avatar's group and Zuko accidentally burnt her feet when she approached him while he was sleeping. That incident aside, the two came to trust one another while at the Western Air Temple and grew closer after being brought to Econtra. Zuko is very fond and protective of Toph, looking out for her in a way he was never really able to with his real sister, and now openly claims Toph as a sister, too.
• Willow Rosenberg (AU) |
inked_wiccan ⇒ One of his roommate and someone he considered a good friend. Willow was sweet and patient with the temperamental prince who was less than thrilled about finding himself in Econtra. She helped him feel more comfortable in his new surroundings, explaining how lights worked, along with the various other electronically-powered devices around the apartment. The witch was sent away from the compound shortly after he got to know her, but as has recently returned.
NEUTRAL RELATIONSHIPS

thisunusualgirl ⇒ Haruhi annoys him, but he doesn't consider her an enemy of any kind, merely a nuisance. They argue from time to time, but it's never anything that would lead to a physical confrontation. She calls him "P.G.P." (short for "Prince Grumpy Pants"), something he really wishes she'd stop doing.

l1_01 ⇒ The Perfect Soldier isn't really a friend, but an acquaintance that Zuko has a lot of respect for. He can see that Heero understands the harsh realities of war and like Mercury, is someone who refuses to accept the compound for anything but what it really is: a prison. He was the second person Zuko met after coming to Econtra and has played a few games of basketball with him and AU!Duo on occasion.
• Melaka Fray (OU) |
melakafray13 ⇒ AU!Duo's off-again/on-again girlfriend and the other Vampire Slayer in the compound. Her speech patterns confuse Zuko, but he isn't bothered by her at all. He's spent time around her and engaged in conversation a few times while hanging out with Duo, but doesn't really consider her a friend.

goddesshelpline ⇒ The goddess helped Zuko retrieve a missing set of memories of events that happened during Pharaun's polymorph spell that had been locked up in his brain for quite some time. However, unbeknown to the prince, a trigger spell was placed in his mind by the now-evil goddess that later caused him to revert back to a version of himself he's less than proud of. After finding out that Belldandy was the one mind controlling him, he now considers the goddess to be an enemy.
• Keiji Saga (OU) |
boyceo ⇒ If the cuffs ever malfunctioned, this would be the first person Zuko would roast alive. Keiji annoys him and pisses him off for reasons the prince is very reluctant to discuss. Zuko's hatred for Keiji has reached the point where he, masked as the Blue Spirit, approached him and when Keiji tried to take one of his swords, managed to break the younger boy's wrist without getting cuffed. Zuko would torment Keiji in person if not for having promised Gaz that he would leave her boyfriend alone.
• Sho Minamimoto (OU) |
grtstcmmnfactor ⇒ Zuko has never met Sho, yet the garbage aficionado seems to have taken a liking to tormenting both him and Mercury. He's both provoked Zuko at moments when he is at his angriest and trying to calm down and used information about the prince's that he learned thanks to Queen Beryl's truth serum to mock him. Zuko doesn't understand what he did to earn such treatment from someone who's name he doesn't even know, but will happily spit flames in this trouble maker's face if they ever happen to meet in person.
PAST RELATIONSHIPS
• Allison Hargreeves / The Rumor (AU) | SENT AWAY FROM ECONTRA ⇒ Zuko doesn't care for The Rumor at all. He finds her obnoxious, nosy, and someone who seems to be looking for a fight. She pestered him with personal information about his past that he blurted out thanks to Queen Beryl's truth serum and has earned herself a spot on the prince's bad side because of it. Vanished from the compound.
• Ami Mizuno / Dark Sailor Mercury [PGSM] (OU) | SENT AWAY FROM ECONTRA ⇒ A lot of people in the compound don't like Mercury and Zuko doesn't quite understand why. In his mind, the blue-haired senshi is one of the few sensible people around, being that she has her priorities with their situation straight and isn't caving into delusions of Econtra being the newest vacation spot. She's also someone who has been manipulated and betrayed, something the two can relate to that helps them better understand one another. Zuko respects Mercury, for her wisdom and abilities, fully willing to take direction from her due to her knowledge and experience with the Entropi should they attack. She's recently vanished from the compound, something that Zuko's unwilling to admit bothers him more than he's been letting on.
• Appa (AU) | SENT AWAY FROM ECONTRA ⇒ An alternate version of the Avatar's sky bison. Zuko didn't get to interact with the bison much before he was sent away from the compound.
• Avatar Aang (OU) | SENT AWAY FROM ECONTRA ⇒ The twelve-year-old boy he once hunted relentlessly in a futile attempt to restore his honor. Zuko had been informed of Aang having been in Econtra and sent away before his own arrival and was around when the Avatar was brought back for a while. During the time in which Aang was back in the compound they resumed his firebending lessons, something that only lasted for a short while as the Avatar was soon sent home again.
• Brother Mhenlo (OU) | SENT AWAY FROM ECONTRA ⇒ Another person from a war-torn world who understood they needed to fight the Entropi whether they agreed with the cause or not. Zuko admired the man, but unfortunately didn't get to know him well, as he soon vanished.
• Buffy Summers (OU) | SENT AWAY FROM ECONTRA ⇒ Vampire Slayer, roommate, and friend. Zuko doesn't see much of her, due to them hardly being in the apartment they share at the same time. He respects the slayer, her abilities, knowledge, and experience. Vanished from the compound, much to the prince's dismay.
• Chibi-Usa / Sailor Chibi Moon / Small Lady Serenity (OU) | SENT AWAY FROM ECONTRA ⇒ The young, pink-haired girl was a friend of Zuko's whom he bonded with over an understanding about what it means to be royalty. He kept an eye out for her when trouble arose, but she unfortunately disappeared from the compound.
• Garth Ranzz / Livewire (OU) | SENT AWAY FROM ECONTRA ⇒ This lightning-wielding so-called superhero is one of the main reasons Zuko has a severe dislike for the Legion superhero group within the compound. Garth approached Zuko while the latter boy was upset and tried to provoke him into a fight, supposedly as a way to test Zuko's skill with fire to see if he was a worthy candidate for Legion membership. Zuko refused to fight and asked more than once to be left alone and that he no interest in joining the Legion. This, along with seeing how little of an impact the Legion has had on the status of the compound, has Zuko convinced that superheroes serve little to no real purpose in their respective worlds. Vanished from the compound.
• Eliade (OU) | SENT AWAY FROM ECONTRA ⇒ Zuko may or may not have liked Eliade. Yes, in that way. He was intrigued by her and while unaccustomed to the blunt comments she made about how attractive he apparently was, was flattered by them--though, he was unsure if she really meant them or was merely saying so to boost the ego she knew to have been damaged by the events surrounding Queen Beryl's truth serum. Whatever the reasons, he appreciated the effort and found himself enjoying her company when it was offered. She was sent away from Econtra before Zuko could figure any of that out.
• Hazuki Azuma (AU) | SENT AWAY FROM ECONTRA ⇒ Hazuki managed to capture Zuko's interest the moment she came into the compound, shortly after his own arrival. At first, the two would meet to dual and exchange knowledge on the different styles of swordmanship they knew, but it quickly developed into something more. There were a few dates and kisses shared between the two and just as Zuko was realizing that he really liked her, Mai arrived in the compound. That, along with Azula's interest in Hazuki, caused the girl to back off, promptly ending whatever could have been between the two. Hazuki, like others, was eventually sent back to her world.
• Ichigo Kurosaki (AU) | SENT AWAY FROM ECONTRA ⇒ The shinigami's temper and open distaste for the world annoyed him, partly because of how much it reminded him of himself. During a time when both boys were frustrated with their individual predicaments, they met to spar as a way of letting off some steam. This resulted, however, in a blow to Zuko's already-damaged left eye, causing him to go blind in that eye. After learning of this, however, Azula used the wish that Yuuko owed her to restore her brother's eyesight. Zuko knows Azula was responsible for this, but is unaware of how she accomplished it. Though the injury was unintentional, Zuko couldn't help but feel a certain about of disdain for the other boy and wasn't sad to see him go.
• Katara (OU) | SENT AWAY FROM ECONTRA ⇒ Waterbender, former enemy, friend, and potential love interest. There was unspoken potential and tension between Zuko and Katara, something that was sparked by a kiss that was shared between the two after a lust potion that Urd attempted went wrong. Whatever was there or could have been was left unresolved, as Katara was soon sent away from Econtra and not to long after that, Zuko moved past it.
• Queen Beryl [PGSM] (AU) | SENT AWAY FROM ECONTRA ⇒ The queen of the Dark Kingdom was the one responsible for a truth serum that made it both impossible for Zuko to lie and compelled him to spill secrets he would normally keep to himself. Many people learned how he got his scar as a result and while he understands that it was not Beryl's intention for it to effect the whole of the compound, he despises her for being so careless with her magic. Vanished from the compound.
• Rei Hino / Sailor Mars / Princess Serenity [PGSM] (AU) | SENT AWAY FROM ECONTRA ⇒ This version of the fire senshi both confuses him and makes him angry. He befriended her at first, even going as far as to teach her some firebending forms that she implemented with her own method of fire manipulation. After learning that she was one of the various forms of Princess Serenity that's been brought into the compound, however, he's not so sure anymore and is reluctant to trust her. Vanished from the compound.
• Usagi Tsukino / Sailor Moon / Princess Serenity [PGSM] (AU) | SENT AWAY FROM ECONTRA ⇒ The most recent incarnation of the destructive Moon Princess that has been brought to Econtra. Zuko has both interacted with other versions of the princess that have inhabited the compound and heard Mercury's tale of how she destroyed their world in her past life. Despite that, however, Zuko has attempted to be civil with the girl and offered her advice on how to earn someone's trust, having been someone in a similar situation, but was ignored and spoken down to. He views her as a selfish brat who complains about her former-friends not trusting her, but is unwilling to do what's needed (destroying the ginzuishou) in order to win them back. She was sent away before anything could be done about her.

He befriended her at first, even going as far as to teach her some firebending forms that she implemented with her own method of fire manipulation. After learning that she was one of the various forms of Princess Serenity that's been brought into the compound, however, he's not so sure anymore and is reluctant to trust her. • Usagi Tsukino / Sailor Moon / Princess Serenity [PGSM] (AU) | SENT AWAY FROM ECONTRA ⇒ The most recent incarnation of the destructive Moon Princess that has been brought to Econtra. Zuko has both interacted with other versions of the princess that have inhabited the compound and heard Mercury's tale of how she destroyed their world in her past life. Despite that, however, Zuko has attempted to be civil with the girl and offered her advice on how to earn someone's trust, having been someone in a similar situation, but was ignored and spoken down to. He views her as a selfish brat who complains about her former-friends not trusting her, but is unwilling to do what's needed (destroying the ginzuishou) in order to win them back. She was sent away before anything could be done about her.
