It's quiet again. That's never a good sign for this place, but I guess I'll enjoy it while it lasts.
A lot's happened, surprisingly, I've just...failed to mention it. Not that it's really that important, but I turned eighteen last month. Birthday's aren't the best of times for me, so I didn't say anything to people who didn't already know, which was limited to my sister and girlfriend. I'm surprised Ty Lee didn't blurt it out when she was here for a while thanks to those transformations. I should be grateful she didn't. Getting birthday wishes from strangers and people who don't even know you was something I was glad to leave behind when I stopped celebrating them at the palace--well, when I stopped celebrating them altogether, but I'd rather not get into that.
Willow's back and now Sokka's here. Mai, Toph, Azula? The war's apparently over. And I'm...well, I'm Fire Lord. Or I should be, if I hadn't come here instead. I can't really say how I feel about that. I'm not sure. I don't want the crown, but...if I have to do it, I will, and apparently I do. Aang didn't kill my father. I don't understand why he didn't do it and maybe it's my fault that he didn't. I should have explained to him how the Fire Nation government worked and how leaving Ozai alive isn't going to help make his influence go away or get his supporters to support me instead of him. I'm kind of glad I'm not there to deal with that, but according to Sokka, I'm actually a...popular ruler. Not sure how I feel about that, either. And, Sokka? We should...uh, hang out, sometime. Maybe duel a bit? It'd be nice to fight someone who actually uses a style of swordsmanship I'm familiar with.

I think it's time we started training again. Working with lightning, maybe? It would be easier to teach you how to redirect it if I knew how to bend it, 'cause then, we could test it out.
