He should skip to the end she thinks. At least one time he should just skip to the end and avoid all the mess and trouble and mistaken identities and skip to the end, because it's always in those last five minutes that it works out. Things can go horribly wrong for days on end, and then in some flash of brilliance he figures it all out and then there's one thing to do and it's done and taken care of.
Though she can also assume that it just seems like those final five minutes, because once it's been solved there's nothing else to do.
"It's like when you lose your keys."
"Hmm?" The Doctor is clearly confused in the moment as Rose suddenly blurts out something that doesn't exactly pertain to the mess their in.
"Nothing."
It is just like when you lose your keys though she reasons. You can spend all day looking for your keys, and you always find them in the last place you look... but it's only that because you stop looking.
"No, no you were saying something. Something about keys. Do you have keys?"
She glanced up at him from the makeshift seat she'd taken against the wall, "No? I just was thinking how everything gets fixed in the last five minutes. Hours of reasoning and sorting out how to fix it and then when it's done and over it's always those last five minutes where it all comes together. Sort of like a show on telly. You can check the time and figure they'll fix it soon."
The Doctor stops what he was doing flipping his sonic screwdriver in his hand a bit, then scratches the back of his head contemplating what she's just said. He'd been trying to sonic their way out of the vault for a few hours now, and she was pretty sure they were going to be in there overnight. The bank manager would come, and wonder how they ended up in there and there'd be a moment of explaining and then they'd hop into the TARDIS and be off to the next adventure.
"You got a look."
"What? No. No look."
"Yeah, I saw it. Just then. You figured something out?"
He shook his head as he started to pat his jacket pockets down, "No, just... looking... for... a-Ha!"
Rose lifted her eyebrows watching the Doctor produce a set of keys. "You had keys?"
"Well... I have keys, but not for this, but!"
Shaking her head she watches him use the sonic on the keys figuring that really that won't do much good, but she's glancing to her watch anyway just in case this is one of those five minute situations. It'd be just like him to make it into one, but she's figured it could just become another five minutes that isn't remarkable at all.
