What would it take,
for things to be quiet,
quiet like the snow.
And I know this isn't much but...
I know I could be better.
I don't think I deserve it, selflessness.
Find your way into my heart.
All stars could be brighter.
All hearts could be warmer.
Are we meant to be empty handed?
Don't think about chances we're taking.
The list goes on and on...
dance until the band stops playing.
We found ourselves.
Silence broken by your voice.
I need you here tonight.

Stevie was both happy and excited when he started to see little sprouts of hair grow back on his head, eyebrows, and arms. He was starting to feel like he'd never see his hair again. He was also shocked at how fast 6 weeks went by. Of course some days felt so long to him, while he was tired and weak but almost two months have gone by since he was first diagnosed.

Shaun's hair was growing back nicely, and it was so weird for Stevie to see him back to his natural hair color. He didn't have money for hair dye so he decided to leave it blond. Stevie realized that he never saw it like that before, unless it was a picture from when Shaun was little.

He couldn't help but run his fingers over the tiny hairs over and over again. It gave him hope in a weird way. His hair coming back was only temporary and he knew that, but he couldn't help but be in a good mood.

"Aw Stevie I love your little hair. It's so cute and fuzzy and adorable. It's like baby hairs. Unlike my disgusting and stupid blond bimbo hair," Shaun muttered, tossing his hair around so it became messy.

"Shaun stop it, your hair is not stupid. It's beautiful. Just like you," the younger teen smiled at his lover. "...and guess what? I have lots of energy now that I'm off the chemo- I'm still not 100% yet but I'm sure we could find a happy medium."

Shaun clapped his hands together with excitement. "Yay! That makes me want to squeeze you but I know I can't do that or I'll hurt you. How about we go to laser tag? Or shopping? Or an all you can eat buffet? Or the zoo? We can bring food even though they tell you not to. It'll be a secret."

Stevie's smile stayed plastered on his face. He was getting so much enjoyment out of his boyfriend's ideas it was ridiculous. Shaun was too cute for words.

"Well I would love to go to the zoo with you Shaun. I just need to put on an undershirt because it's a little cold for me this time of year. You should grab a hoodie because if I know you; which I do, you'll be cold also. So why don't we go upstairs first and dress more appropriately. Then we'll go."

He was glad that he was almost back to his old self. He could think clearly, he felt better, he actually developed hunger, and he could continue to be by Shaun's side.

There wasn't much that could get him down...except for the fact that once two weeks rolled by he was going to have to return to his chemo. Then everything would go back to the way it was and he'd be the lump on a log that he had been.

He tried not to think about it and remained happy; he didn't want Shaun to catch on and be sad.

"What's that? Shaun asked pointing to Stevie once he took his long-sleeved shirt off.

Stevie looked down and shrugged. "What's what? I don't see anything."

Shaun smirked and strutted his way over to his boyfriend. "This," he said, grabbing Stevie by the waist. "This body. Ugh, just looking at you I can't...I can't stop. Your skin is so white and perfect I just wanna kiss you all over. You know...I won our little bet and I never claimed by prize." He kissed Stevie's jaw line. "I'm pretty sure it's time to pay up."

Stevie's mouth hung open and he giggled. "And to think I almost forgot about that. Hm, yes you're right. But what about the animals at the zoo that need to be fed and pet and photographed? What about them, baby? Don't you think we should post-pone?" He said sarcastically.

Shaun curled his lips upward. "Take off the rest of your clothes. Then take off mine. I want you to kiss me here, here, and here," he said pointing to his chest, stomach, and thighs. "And then I want you to let me touch you...here," he pointed to his boyfriend's crotch. "...Do as I say, then wait for further instruction."

Stevie was hard as a rock and there was no denying it. Shaun in control was the hottest thing imaginable to him. He was so glad that he lost the bet because he sucks at being assertive. Shaun being dominant but recessive at the same time was so erotic he could barely stand it.

The brunette did as Shaun had said, removing his pants and boxers, leaving his socks on. He didn't want to bother.

He then slide his hands up Shaun's sides until he lifted up his arms for his shirt to come off. He wiggled his lover out of his pants and found no underwear of any sort underneath. His eyes widened.

"Don't look at me like that, These jeans are way too tight for me to wear any boxers. Or briefs. Swear."

Stevie said nothing, he only pushed Shaun backwards onto his bed and kissed his upper body. He slowly made his way downwards, loving how Shaun's toes curled as he did so.

Shaun wished for a moment that Stevie had hair he could pull while he kissed his inner legs. All he could do was squirm and rub his neck. It was good enough for him.

"St-Stevie..." he moaned, lolling his head sideways. "Be rough with me."

The shorter teen stopped what he was doing and hovered over his boyfriend.

"W-What?"

Shaun blinked up at him and nodded. "It's okay. You won't hurt me. Just do it. Now. Please?"

This was a side of Shaun Stevie had never witnessed. This wasn't like him at all. He liked wild sex, sure; but rough? Like, rape? No. Never. Stevie couldn't ever even pretend to force himself on Shaun. He wasn't into that sort of thing. And he didn't think Shaun was either.

"Wait. Time out," he shook his head. "What do you want me to do exactly?"

Shaun huffed and pulled Stevie close to his face. "I want you to bite my shoulder, scratch your nails down my back and fuck me like you mean it. Clear enough?"

Stevie nodded. As long as the word 'rape' didn't come up, he was fine. He got scared for a second.

He reached into his draw and pulled out the necessary, and positioned himself behind his lover. He figured that it would be hottest if Shaun couldn't see him; couldn't see what he was doing.

He placed his teeth against Shaun's flesh and bit down a little bit less than hard, as his length slowly pushed inside of him.

Shaun hummed in pleasure and arched his back. He had fantasies of this type of sex with Stevie since they first started dating. He always knew he wanted to be 'taken advantage' of so to speak, but he wanted to be in control of it. And this was the perfect possible time to do it.

Stevie moved faster and started to scrape his nails against his boyfriend's back; like he was instructed to do. He was getting much enjoyment out of Shaun's whimpers, moans, and short breaths.

He wrapped his hand around Shaun's erection as he moved his hips at the faster speed he could go. His whole body was beginning to sweat, and his heart was beating so fast. He instinctively pulled Shaun's hair back and sucked on the side of his neck.

"Harder," he breathed, closing his eyes tight as Stevie obeyed. "Gonna come," Stevie's hand went faster, in time with his thrusts. "Stevie...STEVIE. Oh my god!"

And his hips came to a complete stop as he felt a hot liquid on his skin. He pulled out quickly, disposed of the condom and finished all over Shaun's legs. He all but passed out next to his lover.

"Where the fuck did that even come from, Shaun? Seriously?"

The older teen laughed and struggled to move. He nuzzled into Stevie's shoulder. "I really don't know. But that was even better then the sex we had the night of the bet being lost. I'm so hot, though. I can barely breathe. I need...water or something," he said, his chest drastically moving in and out.

Stevie extended his arm off of his bed and rummaged his floor, somehow finding a water bottle. "Here, baby. It's old...but I really can't get up right now and from the look of it, neither can you. So it'll have to do."

"Fine. Perfect." Shaun said, taking the cap off and chugging the water.

"I didn't know you wanted me to be rough, Shaun. You've been holding back all this time."

"Not true. When you fucked me last I said that I would make you fuck me like that again. Proof that I don't lie."

Stevie shook his head and closed his eyes. Perhaps they would nap before their trip to the zoo.

Jack's heart broke more than once when Ian had to leave. He was breaking so many rules already by letting him sleep over, but he couldn't help but want him to stay even longer. He let Ian sleep in the bed he and Micah shared, even though to most people something like that would be unheard of.

They surrounded him in the most loving way possible. He was calm sleeping in the middle of them, his head rested upon Jack's chest while Micah's hand was respectfully on his back.

Ian woke up and had no more tears left to cry. He had a million and one missed calls from his house, but he didn't care. All he wanted was to stay with Micah and Jack. He wanted them to be his family. They were all he needed.

"Tell mom you were at a friend's house and lost track of time. Okay? She'll understand." Jack offered.

Ian's crystal blue eyes were so gone, so transparent. "She won't understand. She can't understand anything that means something. I don't want to go back to her. Or dad. Or that house. I want to stay with you, Jack."

Jack hugged his baby brother. "I know, Ian. I know. Just be strong for me. And if mom doesn't take away your phone please call me. I don't want you getting in any more trouble. Or you'll never be able to come back here."

"I won't let that happen!" the young boy exclaimed. "Never, Jack. I'll come back in two days I promise." he looked towards the tall Australian. "Micah thank you for...not objecting to letting me stay here. I appreciate it. More than you'll ever know."

Micah smiled and pat Ian on the head. "Of course, Ian. Jack and I care for you so much. You're always welcome here."

Ian tried to smile, and hugged Jack one more time before he left to catch his taxi.

When the 15 year old arrived home he was greeted with hell; just like he expected.

"Ian Anthony O' Conner where on earth have you been!? Your father and I were worried sick about you! We called the cops and almost had a search party out for you. Start explaining!"

Ian held no emotion on his face. None whatsoever. He was ready to face his heartless mother who threw out her oldest son with no remorse.

"Was going to lie about it," he said, bitterly. "But I can't. You want to know where I was mom? I was with my brother yeah, remember him? Jack. I found him finally, mom. And I was at his house because I wanted to be there. And you or dad can't stop me."

Mrs. O' Conner scowls at her youngest son. "Ian don't you dare talk to me like that. I was worried to the point where my stomach was in knots. And why were you at Jack's place? Sweetie, he left-"

Ian held up his hand. "Stop, stop lying right now. You...are such a liar! You've been hiding the truth from me and Lily for years! Jack didn't leave on his own, you kicked him out!"

The older woman folds her arms. "Ian, I'm you're mother. You should believe me. I wouldn't lie to you. You're brother left your father and I, and he left you and your sister behind. Why do you think he never called or sent you letters? Because he wanted to be gone, love."

Ian shook his head, not buying a single word. "I don't believe a word you say. Jack wanted to come back. But he was terrified. Maybe he thought you'd throw a bible at him. Or maybe he thought you'd shut the door in his face. Perhaps he thought dad would hit him." He ran his long fingers through his hair. "How could you mom?"

Mrs. O' Conner played dumb; dumb as can be. "How could I what?"

"How could you do this? How could you refuse to see Jack, when he's like this? He told me everything. He told me he's gay, he told me he's sick. He told me all the things I was supposed to know, all the things I had a right to know." He finally let himself start to cry. "He’s so ill, mom. He’s so thin. He's a skeleton, a literal skeleton! He needs us; he needs his family, he's dying. How could you just stand here and...and not have a single ounce of emotion on your face and not have a care in the world? He's your son just as much as I am."

She unfolded her arms and pointed at her son. "No, Ian, darling. Jack isn't my son, not anymore. He's made his choice, and he's been punished for it. He-"

"WHAT HE IS, IS NOT A CHOICE!" Ian screamed, not being able to control his anger. "Do you think for a second that he wants this? What's wrong with you?"

He almost couldn't believe what he was hearing. Jack didn't deserve what was happening to him, how could his mom even think that? She really was a monster.

"Ian go to your room."

The teen didn't move. "This isn't going to go away. You can't just send me upstairs and think of a way to make this alright. Because nothing is going to make this okay, mom. It makes me sick to even call you that. Because you are not a mother. A mother would never turn her child away, no matter what. You know what? You're a disgrace."

Mrs. O' Conner slapped her son hard across his face. "YOUR BROTHER is a disgrace, Ian. To this whole family. The sooner you know that the better. Now do as I say and go to your room before-"

Ian gripped his cheek. "Before what? Before you smack me again? I wish you would. I wish you'd beat me so I could get taken away from you. I hate you! You hear that mom? I hate you! I hate what you've done! I hate what you did to this family!" He sobbed. "Remember when we were happy? 5 years ago, you me, dad, Lily and Jack. Do you even remember Jack? I bet if you saw him you'd never know it was him. I almost thought I had the wrong house," he shook his head, still crying. "...please mom please stop this now. I can't do it I can't take it. Jack is a good person! And so is Micah. He's so loving and caring and...I don't care that they're gay, I don't! Jack is still my big brother I don't care what he is." He sniffed. "And you shouldn't either."

The dark haired women was nearly fuming. "Bible says otherwise. Ian, go to your room, now. I don't know what to do with you. Get out of my sight."

"I bet that's what you said to Jack before you kicked him out." He turned his back. "Fine. I'll go. If you want me gone more often, good. I'm gone. Next time I'm taking Lily with me," he turned around to face his mother once more. "Once she knows the truth about what you did?" He almost smiled. "She'll hate you too."

He nodded and went on. "You'll have no one- no children left. And that's what you mom, that's what you deserve."

And with that he trotted up the stairs and slammed his door shut. The first thing he was going to do was take a picture of his red cheek. Then he was going to call his brother and tell him everything. He could only hope that it would get Jack and Micah over to the house. At some sort of attempt to be a family again; a real family.

But a part of Ian knew it wouldn't work.
