I found yesterday quite hard, and probably most of today. Everytime I saw a "Happy Australia day" I felt sad, its like how now I don't like to walk down the petfood isle... it just makes me feel sad :( Its weird because Australia day used to mostly mean a day off, BBQ and sometimes Fireworks.... now that I am not there it means I feel really homesick. I guess being Aussie doesn't always mean that much when your home, but when your away you realise just how much it means. Either that or there is something in the water that makes Americans patriotic and since I'm not a citizen its made me patriotic for home... and sometimes, that would suprise me if its the truth.
One strange thing I have noticed here is everyone seems politics MAD! There is always this or that bill all over the news and voting on something or the other..... all the time, its constant. The really big one right now is the health care bill, its werid because thier system here is crap, but they don't want one like the Australian one cuz then you pay more tax.... personally I'd rather pay more tax and be able to see a doctor if I need one. So many ppl get sick and don't/can't see a doctor because they just can't afford it, at least in Australia Medicare will take care of a fair chunk of the bill if you need it.
As for the dreaded cold... this is my second day not taking any tablets... and I don't feel too bad... although I have to have a box of tissues escort me around the house, they have LOTION in them... so so soft..... Its werid cuz I reckon I have recovered before 'the man' who was still snoring really loud as I lay in bed trying really hard to sleep last night.... seems I still can't sleep.... its annoying, but then again, I can sleep for most of the day to make up for it.
