frenzy

So, it's the change of seasons here in Busan. This means a number of things, some good and some very, very bad.

1 - my allergies are kicking into high gear. I actually thought I was sick for a few days, they've been so bad. Then, today, the colorful mucus began (I'm trying to be polite). Roughly then, I sighed and added benedril to my shopping list. I don't want to have sinus drainage ruining my throat for the next four months; that's why I smoke.

2 - heavy clothes will soon be going bye-bye. This means that I can start shipping sweaters, coats, and scarves back to the States. It's the beginning of the end of my time in Korea, in short; I guess it's fitting that it's happening right in the middle of my stay here. I suppose, theoretically, I could break out the shorts. Has anyone ever seen me in shorts?

3 - the heating will be turned off, finally. hallelujah. it's been 85 degrees in my apartment for the last three months, and I'm *dying*. I've been turning the AC on at night, recently, to counter the heat (which I can't adjust).

4 - ... the fashion change is upon us, and so all of the clothes from last season are on clearance sale. For the most part, this means nothing, but ... well ... I'd like a gray jacket and some jeans and pants and shirts and everything else, please and thank you. To be entirely truthful, I can already scratch the jeans and shirts and most of the everything else off. The department store down the street had their old stock of jeans on sale for five dollars (us) a pair. I cleaned them out in my size (which was only three pairs, and which is also very awesome - I can fit into Korean clothes!!). I also picked up some undershirts, new boxers, deoderant (I had just run out this morning) batteries for my digital camera (because, now that the weather has changed, there may be things to take pictures of), and so on. I found a pair of gray, plain-front trousers, as well, so I got those.

I have to say that I am so very happy with the weight I've lost since I came here. Even if I don't lose any more (which I plan to do), I'll have lost between 30 and 40 pounds this year. The pants that I was wearing when I got here (and which were a bit tighter than I'd like to admit) are now so loose that when I tighten my belt there are folds in the fabric. Under the belt. Which makes it hard to tell if I need a new belt or not, because I'm on the last hole in my black one and now I've bought pants that fit me, so I'll have to ... yeah, you don't really care.

Anyway, I'm going to go out shopping some more. I have a random day off work today, and I intend to shop and get my ears pierced again. I'm thinking four cartilidge studs (two in each ear) to set off my lobe piercing. I hope they don't say it's unprofessional.
