I rang my new year in by getting up at 8am for a new 10am class - that I'll be teaching five days a week for the whole month. Much like Korea, I didn't really get riled up about the date line. I have enough trouble remembering *my* birthday; who could expect me to remember the world's?
Some things I've noticed lately that seem worth mentioning:
There is a restaurant called Moto in Chicago that I *will* go to when I get back. Vered and Stuart recently went there, and Stuart's review (which you'll just have to long for, if you don't know him) is enough to convince me that I simply must attend.
I'm doing the open beta thing again, testing a new MMO called 9 Dragons which seems visually cool but rather stereotypically grind-y. It's kung fu action, was designed in Korea, and features something like 150 character levels. So it's cool. But I'm feeling a little burned out on it.
Apple is getting class-action gang-banged over the monopolistic connections between iTunes and the iPod. Finally. I was getting sick of having to burn and then rip music I bought from them before I could put it on my Zen.
I'm done here in late August, but I'll be spending a week or two in Japan before I come home. While I'm there, I intend to buy a Japanese PS2 (maybe PS3) and some games. Plus some anime and some manga. Because I *can.*
Also, I only barely missed having an opportunity to meet MT's Dom ... he's there now (heh. Kristen, you might want to stalk him).
Anywho, happy New Year and all that jazz. I'll see you when I see you.
