$2300 is a terrible thing to waste.

Ok. Remember when I was all stressed about getting rehired because the office that's in charge of the paperwork that I need to GET rehired wasn't sending them, and kept saying things like "We need all those letters of recommendation again. And the original copy of your Praxis scores because the xerox copies are just tacky. And a signature in blood. And your firstborn." the whole time?

Well. The same person behind all that also recommend some summer classes for me. I am in the distance program which means I take online classes because I live in Barrow most of the year. She knows that. So I ask "These are distance classes right?" I am assured that they are. So, I call up registration to register. "And these are distance classes?" I ask again, just to be sure. "Yep!" says the cheery registrar person. 'Kay.

A few days ago, I get the class schedule in the mail. Under the class location section, it says DIST. I am ready. I payed extra to get my books in time. I am all set to start.

THEN Guess what?

No, really. Guess.

Yesterday, I get an email telling me I need to get hold of the housing department to make sure I have a room for the summer. Because class starts Monday. "But these are distance classes!" I protest.

Turns out, they are NOT. FANtastic. So I start calling around again for an explanation. The office that can get it to me is not answering the phone. I've left three messages so far and I'm about to start the email campaign. There may not be time to register for an actual distance class. There may not BE a summer distance class. But I am going to want my money back.
