1770 dress plans go ahead

So still no money, so I can't order anything, but I've done a lot of planning and here's what I have so far.

I've made a pair of pocket hoops, was pretty easy to make. I used these instructions and an unbleached cotton that had in my stash. Need to order steel boning for them though.

After looking around for fabric I found that a sale section in a webshop. The price is so cheap that I'm going to order two pieces of fabric. One is a light blue satin

Now, I'm not too happy about using poly satin, but at least it's not the flimsy/shiny satin called party sating. They had one cotton sating, but it was a light lavender colour, and from what I know any colours in the lilac/light purple section are incorrect for the 18th century. The price is $2/m though and I can't argue with that.

There was also this dark grey cotton poplin/tabinett

For the same price as the light blue satin.

My plan is to order both fabric and see which one is best when I have them in my hand. If I feel Like I have enough time I might even make two skirts. I was also home at my mother and she had an old curtain that she didn't know what she was going to do with it. Well it was a beautiful heavy cotton in red/cream/green stripes with a small pattern of flowers. I commandeered it so now I have even more fabric.

I also found this pattern for a 1760s bedgown, and it doesn't seem complicated. It's basically just one piece.

So with that I actually have a grand plan to make two outfits in a month.

1. Grey petticoat and a bedgown out of the striped fabric
2. Lightblue petticoat and pink jacket out of the poly satin that I have.

Nr 2 will be my first priority though, after all I'm going to a ball.

Then I need to find a mask, maybe a hat, a neckchief and I should be set.
