So alot has happened since the last time I posted. Firstly I graduated UNI with a 2:1. Then I went traveling around Australia and met lots of lovely people and saw lots of lovely things. I came back got a job in the Scottish Parliament , became an Aunt. And was a bridesmaid at my sisters wedding. So now its back to real life and real things instead of galavanting around the world boo!!!!
Here are a few of my OZ updates
We took a boat out on the harbour. It was a jet boat and it did 360 turns and things. Then we also got a boat out to Manly which is a beach area about 20 minutes outside of Sydney. We also went to Bondi beach and went for a swim. Apparently the same day there was a shark attack but it turned out it was some guy lying saying he had been attacked by a shark when he had actually broken into somewhere. Today we went to the blue mountains it was beautiful. Alot of walking up and down steps but it was worth it. We also went on the steepest train inclination in the world. Apart from that we have been meeting lots and lots of new people and going out drink and having fun. The sun has finally began to shine, but they are having their heaviest rainfall for 26 years. My job is okay not great but it something. I get to phone up farmers and ask them about there farm. I had one man yesterday go on a rant about Gordon brown which was weird.
Well we are finally about to head out of sydney. I am glad because although its a nice place theres not much to do. Also most of the people we have met are heading away anyway. So tomorrow (monday) we head up the coast to Byron Bay. We are doing a five day surfing trip. The teach you how to surf and we go on a bus going to remote spots where ever the surf is best. They also do yoga classes in the morning, as welll as beach volleyball and singing round the campfire at night. Im really looking forward to it. Then when we get to Byron Bay we are staying in a place called the Arts Factory. It looks really cool. With a choice of accomodation ranging from teepees, log cabins, camping and dorms. They do diggerydoo classes, yoga classes, they teach you to scuba dive in the pool Im really excited.
So we left Byron Bay on Friday but before we left we went sea kayaking. It was hard work but worth it as we got to see loads of dolphins only a few meters from us. We got to see some jumping through the surf it was really cool. Then we left and headed up to surfers paradise, which is pretty much like any cheap spanish resort, we just went there to go to wet and wild. It was really good lots of slides and the wave pool was really cool. That night there was a pub quiz at the hostel which me and paul won so we got a free surfing lesson. so the next day before we left we went surfing. It was a lot better than the surfing camp the instructor was really helpful and I stood up loads. Then I jumped of and hurt my foot so that was the end of surfing for me. After that we got on another bus for a four hour journey to Noosa a small little town where you can go to Australia Zoo (which is the crocodile hunters zoo). We bumped into one of the girls from the Arts Factory that we were friends with and she was going to the Zoo the next day so she gave us a lift to the Zoo. Its a very cool zoo, no big fences, you can feed the kanagaroos and the elephants. There are a lot of crocodiles, but i guess thats what its all about. We also met Terri Urwin (Steve Urwins wife- Steve Urwin was the crocodile hunter) she was just wondering around so that was pretty cool too. So that was yesterday this morning we had to be on a bus t 9am to go to Hervey Bay, we got here at 2pm. So we have travelled about 1000km I think in 4 days which in knackering. Tomorrow we do our Fraser Island trip. Two days camping on a beach and seeing dingos and stuff. Fraser Island is a sand Island off of the East Coast, sounds fun. Oh yeah and Paul did a skydive last week he says it was very good.
Thats all the ones that I could find!!! So back to reality
So this week I started a second part time job. Ive decided already that I dont like it. Basically I am telephoning people and trying to get them to come to conferences. Its so boring. Also I dont think anyone has really spoken to me while Ive been there. The girl who hired me didnt introduce me to anyone so I just kind of sit there all day and make calls. Snore!!! So Im absolutely shattered at my first week of full time. It didnt help that as part of my other job I had to go to a meeting on alcohol pricing and its affects on alcohol mortalitly rates last night which meant i didnt get home until about ten. Oh well should stop moaning now and head to bed early rise in the morning and all
